A worker at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel at which Don, Irene, Will, Hayley and
Nick stayed when they visited London in 2001 for the book launch.
At the time Noah wanted to get back together with Hayley and phoned the hotel
several times to try and speak to her. However most times Hayley was either
asleep or away out and Noah ended up speaking to Robbie instead.
After running into Hayley and co. in Covent Garden Market, he spends the
afternoon showing Hayley around the city, as well as a particularly dodgy
attempt at a Scottish accent. (We don’t speak like that, honest.) They then went
on to spend some time talking about the architecture around London, which Robbie
had a particular interest in.
Robbie then went to the Book Launch, getting his copy of “Letter to Byron”
signed by Hayley, before asking her out clubbing that night. The following
morning, he showed Hayley around some more of the sights around London and they
kissed on Westminster Bridge.
Later that day he tries to convince Hayley, London is the place for her, but
Hayley tells him that she belongs in Australia. When they return to the hotel,
Noah phones, and this time Robbie puts him through to Hayley.
A month or so later, once Hayley and Noah get back together, Robbie phones to
see how Hayley is getting on. Hayley is worried that this might scupper her
chances with Noah, but it didn’t.
