It’s early morning and Sally is trying to sneak Brad out of her bedroom without
everyone discovering he has stayed the night. She will tell the kids about them
soon – but wants to do it the right way. They share a kiss, before Brad exits and
Sal bolts up the stairs as the back door opens – Martha is returning home, with
Cam close behind, after their big night out. Hung over, she asks him to leave –
she has to go to work. Martha’s really not looking good – or coping with what’s
happened to her. At breakfast, Ric mentions he heard noises last night – people
talking. Sally panics, thinking they are on to her and Brad, and darts off for a
shower…
Meanwhile, Police dust for prints in the Bar, as Tony looks around at the
mess. He moves off the check that the takings are in the safe, where he asked Martha
to put them, and is thrown to see that the safe is empty! He hopes Martha took it
home with her. He heads to Summer Bay House and fills Martha in – has she got the
money? Martha shakes her head, knowing she’s stuffed up again. She left it in the
till. Tony is furious – that was at least two grand. He gives Martha the third degree
– how could she be so careless? She later arrives at the bar for her shift and Tony
gives her tasks. She is in a foul mood and Tony comments on her attitude – last
night was serious – it’s never ending. Would Alf put up with this? Martha lets him
know that he can’t sack her, leaving Tony at a loss as to how to deal with her.
Cam later shows up, with Tony watching on, concerned. Martha fills Cam in on the
situation. He thinks she shouldn’t work for her family, then they can’t watch over
her – she needs independence – and offers her a job in his bar. Martha takes him
up on it and lets Tony know she is leaving and storms out. Cam takes her to his
bar, the Rocket Club – she’ll make more money here in one night than a week at the
Surf Club. Martha agrees – when can she start?
Ric has arrived at Mattie’s – she’s worried about Lucas – he isn’t handling the
Belle, Drew situation very well. She feels guilty because things are so good for
her and Ric. He thanks her for all her support during his time in prison. Matilda
lightly suggests he treat her like a goddess as payback. These two are stronger
than ever. She points out they have the place to themselves and makes it clear that
she wants to take the next step with Ric. He’s taken aback – keen – but wants it
to not be rushed – to be able to spend the night with her afterward. Ric promises
to scope out the scene at his place for that night… At the house Brad & Sal talk
about telling the kids re their relationship – they were so close to Flynn – But
Sal lets him know they love Brad too – it’s just a big step. Ric returns and casually
asks if they have plans tonight? They’re staying in. Sal thinks he’s onto them…
Little do they know he’s got his own love agenda. Sally heads to the Surf Club and
Tony fills her in on Martha’s walk out and Cam’s visit – both are worried – she’s
hardly in a place to start a new relationship… Martha later returns to pick up her
last pay and lets Tony know she has a new job at Cam’s bar. He tries to resolve
the situation, but she doesn’t want to talk – and hotly tells him to stay the hell
out of her life! He watches sadly as she storms out…

She heads for the house, where
Sally lets her know she’s worried – what’s happening with Cam? Sal is shocked that
she’s working for him now – Martha lets her know she’s fine – what’s happened to
her lately has nothing to do with any of this…
That night, Ric cleans his room, hides the family photo by his bed, and places
condoms nearby, waiting with nervous anticipation. He wants tonight to be perfect.
Meanwhile, Matilda is thrilled to discover that Tony is having an early night. He
moves off to his bedroom and she creeps out – too easy! Back at the house, Sally
and Ric cross paths – is Brad coming over? No. You going out with Mattie? No. Sal
pretends to do a cross word, Ric fakes a yawn and moves off ‘to bed’, with a knowing
smile on his face. Sal then makes a quick and quiet call to Brad. Coast is clear
– come over. A guilty smile appears on her face. Meanwhile, upstairs, Ric helps
Mattie in through his window, glad that she got away from Tony with no trouble.
They nervously start to kiss – they begin what they’ve both been waiting for, and
this time there is no hesitation.
