Well here we are, the last entry before the top 10. Since these characters speak for themselves I don't think I need to witter on today.
13. Angie Russell - 81 points UP 5
Home and Away, apart from a good 2000, had been a show that was wandering about aimlessly for almost 5 years when the so-called golden generation all drifted away in 1997. Coral Drouyn, an experienced Australian writer, was brought in to save the show and Angie was perhaps her biggest hit. For months on end, audiences were enthralled by what psychotic Angie would be doing next. If she wasn't getting her claws into Rhys Sutherland or tormenting student Nick Smith, she was burning the school down, sharing blows with Irene, and generally manipulating anyone that came within arms distance of her. However Nick and Seb soon cornered her, leading to her dismissal from Summer Bay High. Within a week, she was dead, courtesy of her son. There have been periods before and since that reached these standards, but Angie's time on the bay is up there with the best due to it's continued excellence.
14. Lucas Holden - 75 points UP 14
When Lucas first arrived with his older brother Jack and his Dad Tony, he seemed a great addition to the bay. His relationship with Matilda was refreshing, and maybe when they broke up he lost a few fans. Until about mid 2007 he got storylines, but then he simply faded into the background. We hardly see him anymore. He never even visited Jack in the hospital when he was shot. I'm not sure the writers knew what to do with him and that probably upset some/most of the fans. It's good to see he still scored highly enough and that he still has some loyal fans. Em, no, he was completely rubbish (Ed).
15. Rachel Armstrong - 74 points UP 40
Rachel arrived in Summer Bay in the middle of the cyclone of 2006 and was instantly thrown into the action as the new Doctor in town, saving lives. There are many reasons why our forum members love Rachel, her warmth, her strength, her vulnerability, her role as superdoc and in the case of at least two of our moderators, what she looks like. For me though, the thing about Rachel is that she is a believable character, flawed and portrayed perfectly by the fantastic Amy Matthews. Whatever storyline or scene is thrown at her, Amy always manages to do it justice and give Rachel a depth that a lot of fictional characters never seem to manage. Beautiful, clever, and a nice person. What's not to like about super Doc Rachel Armstrong?
