Features > MPC08: Bevan's Thoughts

Bevan Lee, Home and Away script writer extraordinaire was kind enough to share his thoughts on the results. You can discuss the results and more in this thread.

It's no wonder Sally, as played by Kate, has made it out on top again. I say "as played by Kate" because it is the incredible warmth and depth that Kate brings to her performance that has made Sally one of the most iconic characters in Australian television history.

I feel a "paternal" glow, as I watch the brilliance of Kate's work now. Also the character of Sally is the current lynchpin of the show, so it is not odd that the fans should see her as front and centre and favourite. It will be interesting to see the results next year, when she has gone.

And who can be surprised that Irene is second. If Sally is the soul of the show, Irene is its earthy heart. And Matilda is the hope for tomorrow. What a wonderful young actress Indiana has become from her first faltering steps.
