2016 Preview: A round-up of Home and Away spoilers
Home and Away drew to an abrupt end on 9 December 2015, with Leah and Zac married, Ricky and Nate engaged, Irene drunk, and Charlotte dead.
With 7 weeks until the show returns on 1st February, we take a look at some of the storylines and new characters set to grip us in 2016. We’ll be updating this article over the next few months, so keep checking back for all the latest Home and Away spoilers.

Kyle Braxton to leave the bay?
After months of speculation, due to a lack of photos from Palm Beach on Nic’s Instagram account, it is rumoured that Nic Westaway, who plays Kyle Braxton, has left the series. More details in our dedicated article here.
Who shot Charlotte King?
Charlotte King has had quite the year – she arrived in the bay looking for a fresh start, but it wasn’t long until everything around her began to fall apart. Her reign of terror, which saw almost all of Summer Bay turn against her, came to an end in the final episode of 2015 as a mysterious figure emerged from the shadows and murdered her, leaving a question on the tip of everyone’s tongue: who shot Charlotte?
With countless possible suspects in the murder of Charlotte, it looks like her legacy may remain long into the new year. We’ve picked our 10 main suspects and try and unravel the mystery of who shot Charlotte.

Morag returns
Morag Bellingham, fiery lawyer and sister of Alf Stewart, was last seen in 2013. Cornelia Frances, the actress behind her, was seen filming scenes at Palm Beach in August, suggesting Morag’s return later in the year.
Ricky to make a Sharpe exit?
It’s looking likely that Ricky Sharpe is to depart Summer Bay in 2016.
Actress Bonnie Sveen, who has played Ricky since 2013, was recently spotted filming what appeared to be her final scenes, fuelling speculation that she will leave the bay with lover Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton. She was also seen receiving a paper bouquet from crew members, in what seemed like an emotional goodbye. Ricky discovered that Brax was still alive in the final episode of 2015, setting things up for an emotional start to the new year. However, Bonnie recently told the Daily Mail that she’s “still comfortable in the bay”.
Maddy to be involved in a tragic accident?
An article in UK newspaper Daily Mail recently showed Kassandra Clementi, who plays Maddy Osbourne, filming scenes with a fake arm, suggesting she’ll be involved in a tragic accident in 2016. Wearing a loose grey top, and with her left arm hidden behind her back, the actress was seen filming on Palm Beach with a bandage covering a fake arm, which appeared to have been amputated at the elbow. It’s not yet known how she sustained the injury, but it looks like a pretty bleak start to the year for Maddie, who was diagnosed with a rare ovarian cancer in 2015. The scenes also saw her walking alongside co-star Alec Snow, who plays Matt Page, suggesting their romance, which started at the end of 2015, carries on well into the new year.
Wedding bells – but for who?
Ada Nicodemou, the actress behind Leah Patterson-Baker (now Leah MacGuire), recently posted a photo on Instagram taken at West Head Lookout, suggesting an upcoming wedding. The photo shows her in a purple dress, while Johnny Ruffo (Chris Harrington) and Tai Hara (Andy Barrett) are wearing tuxedos in the background.
Could 2016 see Chris and Hannah walk down the aisle, or maybe Hannah and Andy, or will there be wedding bells in store for another of Summer Bay’s couples? Johnny Ruffo also recently posted a picture of him and Cassie Howarth (Hannah) relaxing between takes, with the hashtag #mrsharrington.

A red herring, or another hint that 2016 could be the year of Mr and Mrs Chris Harrington?
Kat and Ash
We’ve seen them grow closer towards the end of 2015, but it seems police constable Kat Chapman and ex-con Martin “Ash” Ashford officially get together this coming year, according to this picture taken by a fan of the show.

Tank and Skye
Although Wayne “Tank” Snelgrove and Skye Peters never met in 2015, it would seem that not only will both return in 2016, but they will also romance each other, as this photo from Khappg Images suggests:
A wealth of new characters…
A new year will bring with it some new faces.
Penny McNamee, a 32 year old stage actress, has scored a lead role on Home and Away as Summer Bay’s newest doctor, Dr. Tori Morgan. We don’t yet know much about her, but Penny said of her character: “She arrives in Summer Bay looking for a fresh start, but she’s certainly got some dark secrets.” She is accompanied to Summer Bay by her three brothers, Justin, Brody and Mason.
The brothers Brody, Mason and Justin Morgan are played by Jackson Heywood, Orpheus Pledger and James Stewart respectively. Of his character, Jackson revealed that Brody is a chef with big ambitions. Of his character’s family, he stated, “I can definitely see that [comparisons to the Braxton brothers], but I think we have a very different dynamic. It will be exciting to tell the story and as it will be revealed, it will be a very different story.”
Meanwhile, X Factor singer and actress Samantha Jade will be making an appearance as bad girl Isla, who arrives in the bay with bad intentions.
Jade told the Daily Mail: “I can’t say too much but I can say she comes to the Bay with bad intentions. She has a bit of a past and she falls for one of the favourite boys on the show”
Photos from the set suggest that she will get together with Kyle. However, it seems Isla doesn’t stick around in the Summer Bay for long, as she revealed in November that she was done with filming.
