Extended Summary

Will is a broken man. Irene says he can change all that, he’s not the first person to be served with divorce papers, there’s still a chance at a happy life. But Will is terrified he’ll lose Lily. Irene tells him to pick himself up and do something about it. Will tracks down Alf and begs for his job back, Alf explains again that he can’t afford to keep him on, but Will says he’ll work for free – he just needs a job – something to keep him going and prove he can support Lily. Alf is reluctant to use a worker for free but Roo chimes in and says Will can have his job back.

Roo thinks Alf should undertake a marketing scheme to get the bait shop back on track – she also wonders whether Alf should get a lawyer in the wake of the rumours that he killed Penn. Alf is reluctant but any further conversation is stopped by the arrival of Robertson. He goads Will and Alf telling them he knows they were in it together- they killed Penn. Will is shocked by the accusation and despite Roo’s words of comfort, he’s deeply shaken.

Later, Roo confronts Robertson and insists he leave her father alone – he’s innocent. Robertson refuses, telling Roo she must convince Alf to confess- he’ll get a much better deal that way. Later, Leah learns that Robertson used her comment about Will getting his job at the bait shop as his basis for the accusation Alf and Will are Penn’s killers. She’s deeply hurt and feels used. She confronts Robertson and tells him so – as far as she’s concerned they are no longer friends.

Sid asks Indi and Dex how they feel about Marilyn moving in. Dex is all for it, but Indi has reservations – about what, she’s not exactly sure. She thinks things are going well and adding Marilyn to the mix may stir things up – or perhaps it’s because she’s not ready for a full time mother replacement yet? Dex thinks otherwise, he feels Indi still holds hope that their dad and their mother will reunite and she has to let that go because it’s not going to happen. Indi thinks on this and has a chat with Marilyn. Once she realises Marilyn has no doubts about being with Sid and she would be with him whether she was ‘dying’ or not, Indi’s doubts are put to rest. Welcome to the Walker household, Marilyn!
