Paula was a student at Summer Bay High in the same class as Dani Sutherland and Brodie Hanson. She was among the students in Sally’s class who were taken hostage by Hamish Woodford using a replica gun. Paula was extremely distressed by the experience, unable to stop crying despite Sally comforting her and Woody attempting to threaten her. With police negotiations not getting anywhere, Brodie eventually convinced Woody to let the other students go so they could talk alone, and Paula was reunited with her mother outside the school.
