Extended Summary

Kirsty is relieved to be reading a letting from Trey stating that nothing happened between them, absolving her of any wrong doing during her time as Trey’s tutor. Kirsty and Miles are quick to show the letter straight to Bartlett who says he will let the department know that Trey has recanted his actions. Bartlett also reveals seven windows at the school have been smashed, and that they suspect it is linked to Roman and Leah’s accident.

Charlie is on the case, questioning everyone who was at the beach at the time of the accident. Xavier tries to lay low from the questioning by suggesting he and Brendan go to visit their mum, the last thing he wants is Hugo finding out he was at the party. But it’s too late, Charlie turns up to question him and Xavier is fast to explain to Hugo – he was at the party but not for long and he doesn’t know anything about the accident.

With all this talk from Xavier to Brendan about the trouble he might be in, and a mention from Charlie about a slingshot, Brendan takes off again. After a brief search Xavier finds him having climbed a tree – worried he’s going to be thrown in jail. But Xavier’s worry right now is Brendan falling. Charlie turns up and Xavier asks her to leave, telling her it was her presence at the house that morning that got him worried that he was going to be in trouble. His worst fears are realised as Brendan comes crashing to the ground. And it’s when Brendan gets taken to hospital, that Xavier sees Roman bedridden and it really hits him exactly what Brendan’s done. Later Hugo and Xavier argue about Brendan’s care, with Xavier accusing Hugo of taking enough responsibility. Xavier tells Hugo what Brendan really needs is to spend some time with his mother and Hugo agrees they should all travel up there together.

Meanwhile, Ruby is still determined to stick by her theory of Trey causing the accident to Leah’s car. Off the back of Ruby’s hunch, Charlie goes to Trey’s house to confront him about the incident but he soon denies things. Unfortunately for him the slingshot has been found under his bed which is the one he found, that Brendan had lost. Trey insist he found the sling shot on the way to the party, but with a testimony from one of Trey’s gang confirming the school window smashing, Charlie is finding it hard believe he had nothing to do with Leah’s accident.

Trey uses the only thing he can to get out of this mess, his alibi. He tells Charlie that he was with Kirsty at that time of the night so he couldn’t have caused the crime. After Kirsty denies the allegations, a furious Trey shows up at her house upset that she has lied to the police. When Trey moves threateningly towards Kirsty, Miles intercepts, pushing Trey to the ground which dislocates Trey’s shoulder. And with the police involved once more asking about Trey’s injuries, Kirsty has no choice but to come clean – she was with Trey the night of the accident.
