Extended Summary
Martha is still shaken from her late night visit from Jack, but Michael, unaware of the visit, is concerned it’s due to him telling her yesterday that he loved her. Martha reassures him that that wasn’t a problem. After ascertaining that Jack’s home alone Martha pays him a visit. She needs to talk about what’s been happening. Jack apologises for his inappropriate visit, but he still has feelings for her and acted on impulse. Martha thinks that if that’s the case then he shouldn’t be marrying Sam. Unbeknown to Jack and Martha, Rory walks in just in time to hear that.
After what he’s overheard Rory behaves badly towards both Jack and Martha. Sam tries to get Rory to tell her what’s upsetting him, and is shocked when she learns what Martha suggested to Jack. Sam tackles Jack over the issue and he plays the whole thing down. Despite his unspoken doubts, Jack tells Sam not to worry – he loves her and it’s full steam ahead with the wedding. Later, when Sam sees how happy Michael and Martha seem together, she attacks Martha for putting doubts into Jack’s mind about the wedding. Despite Martha’s hurried explanations that she was only suggesting a wedding postponement Sam isn’t appeased and she tells Martha in no uncertain terms to keep away from her and Jack.
After Ric and Matilda make plans to have dinner together and then take in a movie later Cassie and Matilda go into Yabbie Creek to buy dresses for their formal. They’re both pleased with their purchases and are unaware of the visit Viv’s husband Noel pays Ric at work. Noel invites Ric and Mattie over for dinner at his place. Ric tries to decline, but Noel doesn’t listen. Later when Viv visits Ric he tries to enlist her help in getting him out of the dinner invite, but all he succeeds in doing is spilling coffee on her.
When Viv changes her top Ric can’t resist checking her out and Viv notices. Ric decides that no matter what Noel thinks, dinner with him and Viv isn’t an option. However he has trouble getting Viv’s roadworthy again and has to work back late completing the job. He’s actually in the shower, cleaning up before meeting Mattie, when Viv arrives to collect her car. When Viv realises Ric is alone in the garage taking a shower Viv strips off and, despite Ric’s protestations, she joins him!
While Tam is flattered that Aden starts showing some interest in her she’s also wary of his attention, but the two seem to get along well together. Meanwhile, both Heather and Brad go to job interviews and Heather is delighted to score a gig at the hospital. Brad doesn’t learn his fate, but isn’t confident of securing a teaching job at Reefton Lakes. Heather offers to buy dinner at the diner as a low key celebration and over dinner Brad opens up telling her that he feels that both his relationship with Sally, and teaching at Summer Bay High, are now part of his past and not to be revisited.
