NEAR THE SANDS
Kirsty is on the phone, presumably to Kane, and as she hangs up Shelley comes up behind her, wanting to talk. kirsty asks how the family dinner went, ands Shelley would have preferred Kirsty being there – Kirsty tells her that if Kane isn;t welcome, then she won’t be there. Shelley suggests that she book into a room at the Sands – Shelley could afford it and it would give them some time alone, just the two of them. Kirsty rejects this idea, knowing that Shelley is cutting Kane out.
CARAVAN PARK
Beth asks Scott after Dani, and they discuss rhys’ comment about Shelley being his wife – Scott is more concerned that Beth, who just thinks that “old habits die hard”. She tells Scott she’s fine – they should be supporting Rhys and Dani.
KK Van
Kane does rehab exercises on the edge of the bed, and Kirsty is tired of being stuck in the van. He doesn’t want to go out, knowing how people will react to seeing them together in public, but as Kirsty goes to leave alone he changes his mind.
THE PALACE
Shelley arrives to see Scott, and Alex and Hayley welcome her, before making themselves scarce. Shelley tries to apologise for David’s actions – it wasn’t intended to upset her, but they’re trying to do the right thing. Scott wonders if David should still represent Dani – as he doesn’t ‘get’ who Dani is, although Shelley trusts him.
DINER
Morag enters and addresses Leah – “Aaaah, our little baby farmer!”, and comments about how much Leah is taking on – with both work and VJ. Alf isn’t impressed at Morag.
Kane and Kirsty enter, and Alf voices concern over whether Kane is fit to be up and about. Kane laughs off Morag’s formal reception as he and Kirsty take a seat. Kane remarks that people are already watching them, and Kirsty kisses him to make a point to everyone watching.
CARAVAN PARK
Shelley arrives to see Beth, apologising about Rhys’ earlier comment, which Beth isn’t worried about – “a slip opf the tongue”. Shelley assures her that there is nothing left between she and Rhys but the kids.
PATTERSON HOUSE
Hayley and Leah talk about the surrogacy, and Jesse thinks that Leah will “sail through” it. Hayley thinks it’s amazing what Leah is doing for Sally and Flynn – as she couldn’t give up a child after nine months. Leah is clearly disturbed, despite Jesse stating that Leah is simply doing some “pre-natal nursing” – a nine month babysitting service!
DINER
Josh has sat with Kirsty and Kane, and assures Kirsty that her story won’t go to print until after the trial. Once he leaves, Kane questions exactly what the article is about. Kirsty is bothered by everyone staring at them, so Kane loudly invites them to sit with them, or take a picture, which only serves to wind Kirsty up more. Kane stops her leaving and reminds her that that is how things are going to be from thereon, so she’d better get used to it.
KK Van
Kane and Kirsty return home, with Kirsty furious at the way Kane spoke to everyone at the Diner, making things worse for them. He isn’t impressed that she’s giving Josh her story – they coiuld have made thousands off him, but she tells him she doesn’t want to make money from what Dani is going through. As he realises how upset she is he gets up to console her, but she brushes him off, telling him she has a headache. When he unseriously (a word?) suggests that he sleep on the floor she tells him no, he can have the spare bedroom.
The following morning, Kirsty inadvertantly wakes Kane up as she leaves for school. He wants her to stay and sort things out, but she brushes him off and leaves.
FLYNN’S PLACE
Irene arrives to see Flynn as Sally is leaving. She voices concern over Tasha remembering more than she’s letting on, and her newfound interest in boys, in particular Josh and Irene is worried, although she doesn’t think Tasha is sexually active – she hates being touched. They wonder what Josh is up to, and Flynn offers to have a word.
BREAK
DINER KITCHEN
Colleen talks to Shelley about her chemo, and Shelley says she’s only intown to support Dani through the trial. Colleen is adamant that Dani doesn’t need support – she’s “as innocent as a new born babe”.
DINER
Hayley, Alex and Jesse talk about the sterioid business – journalists hanging around. Alex is worried but Hayley assures him that they will fight it. As Jesse and Hayley leave Alex goes to Leah, expecting her to say “I told you so”, but Leah tells him that sometimes people make unwise decisions on the spur of the moment
KK Van
Kirsty arrives back for lunch and Kane is cooking for them. She listens unenthusiastically as he tells her of a great place he spent some time in a while back, and suggests they need to get out of the Bay. She tells him that if Dani gets off it’s fine, but if she goes to prison then she won’t be able to forget Kane’s part in it – and their relationship will be over.
THE SANDS – pool area
Flynn arrives to see Josh, who is on the phone. Flynn questions his reasons for being in the Bay – in particular Tasha, reminding Josh that Tasha is under 16 – and he is 18. Flynn promises that Josh will NOT mess Tasha around.
BEACH HOUSE
Beth arrives to see Kit, offering to take her for lunch
BEACH
Beth and Kit walk down the beach, apologising for being so caught up in the Sutherlands. Kit tells Beth she’s fine with Irene – but Irene’s not her Mum and she gets lonely. She is upset that Beth never has any time for her and Beth comforts her with a hug, telling her that it’s not true.
FLYNN’S PLACE
Shelley voices concerns to Flynn about making things worse for Dani, and Flynn breaks the news that he’s giving evidence for the prosecution – medically for Kane’s injuries and Dani’s state of mind, and tells Shelley that he will tell only the truth. Shelley thinks that she’s to blame for the mess – as she walked out, but Flynn tells her that there was no way she could have stopped Kane coming back for Kirsty. Shelley is also concerned that Kirsty only has Kane for support. She asks about the surrogacy, and Sally and Flynn tell her that they’re waiting for news of whether they have a viable embryo.
PATTERSON HOUSE
Leah tidies things away, and Jesse can sense that something is up. Leah tells her she can’t go through with the surrogacy – as she knows she won’t want to give the child up, despite wanting Flynn and Sally to be pparents so much. Jesse reassures her, but tells her that she MUST let Flynn and Sal know as soon as possible , before things go too far. She doesn’t know how she can destroy their dreams
FLYNN’S PLACE
Flynn and Colleen discuss her improving health, as Sally comes off the phone, ecstatic – they’ve got a viable embryo! Colleen tells them it’s wonderful news
PATTERSON HOUSE
Flynn and Sally break the ‘good news’ to Leah and Jesse, and tell Leah that it’s down to her now – they must get her to the clinic as soon as possible. Leah makes excuses to try and get out of it.
