Hope gives Duncan a second chance. Will apologises to Peta for expecting her to drop everything for him. Sally calls Vinnie a coward for not undergoing radiation therapy.
Extended Summary
Vinnie’s latest craze is a health fad and he vows to eat no more junk just lots of vegetables and vegetable and fruit juices. Sally is not pleased and tells Vinnie he is being stupid and leaves in a huff for the dinner. There she meets Marilyn and tells her about a book she is reading about a man who has cancer who decides not to have the orthodox treatment of radiotherapy but opts for alternative therapies instead. Sally tells Marilyn that the man’s girlfriend does not believe in alternative therapies. Marilyn tells her the girlfriend is being narrow minded the treatment could work. Later Sally tells Vinnie that she thinks he is being a coward and that he is taking a risk by not having the treatment that James has suggested.
Vinnie talks to Marilyn in the diner about a video he has watched with the video having a similar plot line to the book Sally mentioned earlier. Marilyn is confused and says that is the same story Sally told her earlier but it was a book not a film. Sally later agrees to support Vinnie’s decision to try alternative treatments and says they will go through it together.
Will tries to make Peta guilty for not going out with him, as she wants to go shopping with Hayley. Peta however does not let Will have his own way however and while Hayley and Peta go shopping Will and Sam go surfing. When Hayley and Peta come back from their shopping spree Hayley suggests spending the night at Peta’s. Peta makes up a number of unconvincing excuses, which Hayley does not accept, so Peta leaves the diner in a huff.
Duncan asks Hope after he apologises to her for his behaviour. Duncan after having a heart to heart conversation with Hope decides to give the Youth group another try. Hope is pleased and tells him that is what the Youth group and church is about second chances. Duncan goes to the Diner and has a heart to heart talk with Alf and Ailsa. He apologises for his behaviour since he came home from the hospital. He says he feels ashamed of the way he has acted. Alf and Ailsa are absolutely delighted.
