Nick is horrified to be confronted by Greg and Fiona’s affair. Tug makes a final effort to win Sarah back.
Extended Summary
It starts at Laura Brennan’s place and she’s putting Damian through his paces as he has his first training session with her. She then sets about his diet and makes him a drink from fresh vegetables and makes him drink it and he doesn’t like it – he’d prefer to take vitamin tablets. She tells him he’s got to drink two glasses a day and he pulls a face and then drinks it. Damian impresses her with his determination to win and she thinks he’ll succeed, if he keeps that attitude.
Nick drops by the Diner with his groceries and gets badgered into joining the Fund raising committee with Bobby. After he leaves, she tells Ailsa that Tug’s not given up on Sarah and is going to write her a letter but Ailsa thinks it will be a waste of time. Bobby comments on how the young are always in and out of love relationships and says that at least she knows Greg loves her and will be waiting for her when she gets home. Greg and Fiona get caught out by Nick returning home and sees them kissing and he dumps the groceries in the kitchen and walks out in disgust. Greg drives her home and she worries that Nick will tell someone but Greg doesn’t think he will because he hasn’t so far. Back at the beach house, Sam’s making a nuisance of himself as Tug tries to write his letter to Sarah. When Bobby comes in she tries to discourage him from writing it in light of what Ailsa said but he’s sure it will change her mind about him. The only thing is he’s having trouble with what to say after ‘Dear Sarah’…
At the Surf Club, as Sarah and Roxy wax their surf boards, Nick tries to get them to see raffle tickets. As he’s about to go out for a surf, Greg comes in to have a quite word with him. He tries to bluff Nick into saying he was just comforting Fiona, making an excuse she was upset about Toby but Nick tears a strip off him for lying and walks out on him. Greg follows him down to the beach but it doesn’t resolve anything, it just makes Nick sick to think of what he’s doing to Bobby. Roxy and Sarah comes along as they are shouting at one another and Greg storms off. Greg goes home and Bobby tells him that Tug is heading for heartache and she told him to go for a walk. She thinks they’re lucky because they’ve got no such problems and she gives him a hug but he knows different. Tug walks along the beach and sees Sarah and Roxy in the water but keeps his distance. Nick comes out and chats to him about the surf and then goes to get changed before heading off home. Fisher is sorting out the household accounts and is surprised when Nick tries to convince him to let Fiona go but Fisher thinks she’s doing a good job and won’t hear of it. He senses Nick’s in a mood, so Nick says no more and heads off to the beach house for the committee meeting with Bobby and Roxy. Tug tells Bobby about how he saw Sarah and Roxy splashing around in the water and having a great time but he’s now finished his letter and goes off to deliver it, hoping it will do the trick. Nick and Roxy arrive and when Greg goes to get the beers from the fridge, he calls Nick over to ask if he’s going to spill the beans. Nick looks daggers at him and says the only good thing to come out of this deceit, is watching him sweat about what he’s going to do. He tells him he has no intention of telling him and goes to join the others, leaving Greg a worried man. At the Diner, Damian’s telling Tug what a great woman Laura is but Tug’s got one thing on his mind and he gives Ailsa the letter and to make sure she reads it. Back at the beach house, Nick’s having a hard time as Greg carries on as if nothing’s wrong. Greg comes up with the idea for a ‘Slave Auction’ and Roxy and Bobby thinks it’s a great idea. When Bobby comments on how wonderful he is, it’s too much for Nick to bear, and he says he’s got to go because he’s got a headache. After he leaves, Bobby turns to Greg and asks him if he knows what was the matter with Nick but he just shrugs his shoulders and says he had no idea.
Next morning, Damian heads over to Laura’s place and she’s just made a couple of loaves. He upsets her when he talks about her being accused of murder and she warns him never to pry into her personal life again and orders him out, to do his warm-up exercises.
Over at the beach house, Greg’s being very attentive to Bobby and Sam. He asks her if she’s likely to speak to Nick about what the problem was but she says it’s up to him, if he wants to tell her. Bobby then asks Tug if he gave Sarah the letter and he says he chickened out and gave it to Ailsa.
It ends down on the beach where Sarah’s reading the letter. It explains he’s always loved her and just hopes she’ll give him one last chance…
