Tug sets out to prove to Sarah that he’s no longer jealous and possessive.
Extended Summary
Greg follows Bobby into the kitchen as she prepares the Diner menus and says he can’t believe the bad luck they seem to be having lately. When she tells him they’ll manage, he points out he doesn’t like the idea of her having to support the family, so he decides to go and see if Michael can give him his old job back. He doesn’t seem to think Adam will be a problem and brushes past Ailsa as she comes in. Bobby tells her what’s happened and remarks she doesn’t share Greg’s optimism about Adam stepping down. Shane and Damian are having a couple of egg flips, in preparation for the big game, but Damian’s a bag of nerves. Shane tells him to do what he does – imagine the ball is Tug’s head and kick it as hard as he can. When Damian asks, isn’t it about time he let up on the guy, Shane retorts, after what that mongrel has put him through lately, he’s lucky to be still alive. Damian just sighs and says nothing.
At the school, Luke comes in, looking for Roxy and Sarah tells him she thinks she gone to see Fisher. Tug comes over and says they must talk but Sarah is fed up with him and turns him down, much to the delight of Shane, who is right behind him. After Shane has another dig at Tug, Damian has a go at him again, but Shane’s enjoying his bit of fun! Luke tries to talk to Roxy but she’s tells him she’s busy and now has the enviable task of telling Shane and Tug that their exams papers are missing. But when Kim, the student she asks to hand out the results, hands them ‘the missing papers’, she can’t believe it. First she suspects the two of them had something to do with it but they protest their innocence When Shane pipes up they must have come from the ‘twilight zone’, she doesn’t think it’s funny. After class, Shane is on Tug’s case again, when Sarah tells him she’s too busy to go to the canteen with him. Then when Damian and Shane discuss the fiasco of the ‘missing paper’ and joke about Roxy losing the plot, they are unaware Luke’s right behind them and heard every word. They scarper and Luke catches up with Roxy and when she tells him what happened in class, he annoys her when he thinks he thinks she may be overstretching herself. She tears him off a strip and walks off, leaving him wondering whether the boys were right about her losing the ‘plot’.
At the Ross house, Michael’s giving Adam his instructions and he’s off to the Surf Club to do some repairs, passing Greg on the way out. Michael thinks he’s come for his money but Greg tells him the job at the depot has fallen through and he was hoping he could get his old job back but Michael says he can’t sack Adam – it wouldn’t be fair. Greg’s desperate, so Michael suggests he go and talk to Adam and if he’s agreeable to stand down, then it’s okay by him. So Greg goes off to speak to Adam.
Imogen is putting on a special act for Ailsa, as she volunteers to do the shopping and help her ice the cakes at home later, leaving an unsuspecting Ailsa grateful. As she leaves the Diner, Bobby goes to talk to Adam about the job. She finds out that Greg hasn’t talked to him yet and after he leaves, she voices her concern to Ailsa about what will happen, if Greg can’t get his job back. When Adam gets back to the Boat Shed, Greg’s waiting for him and Greg tries to unsettle him by stating he won’t be able to do much surfing, working long hours for Michael but Adam doesn’t seem too bothered. Greg tries a different tactic and rants on how if will affect Sam but Adam’s not biting. He takes the wind right out of Greg’s sails, when he tells him, that, he at least, will be able to pay his 50 bucks rent now.
Roxy’s next class is a cookery lesson and Shane makes fun of Damian’s apron, saying only pansies wear them and he’s very conveniently forgotten to bring his. He doesn’t seem bothered he could lose marks for it and goes to chat up Kim, whilst they wait for Roxy to come in. Sarah arrives and when Tug calls for her to join him, she asks Damian if she can sit with him. Consequently, the only seat left for Shane is next to Tug and when Roxy comes in and tells him to sit there, he’s annoyed. When she asks where his apron is and he jokes about misplacing it, like she did with the ‘missing papers’, she’s not amused. She orders him to wear a spare apron she’s got and the class find it amusing because it’s got flowers all over it. Damian and Sarah talk about the aggro between Shane and Tug, as they set about their task. He tells her it’s got nothing to do with him and she says it’s Tug insane jealousy, that has driven them apart. Tug and Shane end up fighting when Shane won’t follow the rules in cooking and deliberately uses a liquidiser to whip up the cream, knowing full well, it will curdle. After class, a furious Tug gets even more aggro at the Diner, when Sarah goes and sits with Damian and Shane. He moans to Adam about it and he points out, it’s because of his vendetta with Shane, that she’s over there with him. When Adam tells Bobby Greg’s been talking to him about being out of work, he remarks how different things were 24 hrs ago – there he was, scratching around for work and Greg, with two jobs – and now look at them. Bobby can’t believe how insensitive he is and it takes Ailsa to remind her, it is Adam, she’s talking about! Ailsa leaves, to go home, to ice the cakes. Roxy arrives home and Imogen can’t wait to hear how her morning went. First she tells her about the missing exam papers turning up; then Luke thinking she’s ready for the funny farm; and finally the brawl between Shane and Tug in her cookery class. She admits, if there wasn’t a law against it, she could have quite cheerfully socked the both of them. Alisa comes in and when she goes into the kitchen, surprise, surprise, the cakes are burnt to a cinder. Imogen blames Roxy but Ailsa tells her she had already taken the cakes out, before she left in the morning. The question now is, how did the cakes get back into the oven and they look to Imogen for the answer! Looking for a way out, she tries blaming Sarah and Tug but Ailsa soon scotches that idea and she drops herself right in it, when she lets on, she knew they were on the table. Backed into a corner, she says she’s leaving but not before telling Roxy it’s all her fault! Roxy looks confused, as she and Alisa are left standing there.
Greg comes into the Diner and moans about Adam not taking the hint. As they talk about it, Adam comes in and it doesn’t help, when he tells him to apply for unemployment. After he leaves, Greg asks how is it, Adam always seems to come up trumps.
Back at school, rehearsals are under way and Luke’s impressed, when he joins them but when he sees Damian is helping out, he persuades him to take on the part of Mick. Tug arrives and says he wants to help too, so Luke gives him the job of prompt, freeing him to take over being the director. Sarah’s not happy about him joining but he assure her, he’ll behave. The rehearsal continue and everything’s fine until they get to the part where the singing starts. Luke tells them to skip that part and turns to Tug for the next prompt. Egged on by Shane, Tug has to grit his teeth, to say it’s the kissing scene!
It ends with Shane going overboard as Sarah puts her arms around him and in true Hollywood fashion, they kiss. All Tug can do is sit there and watch…
