A stray dog divides the Fletcher household; Tom is alarmed when he learns how Carly got hold of the money.

Extended Summary
Lynn comes home from school and notices the stray dog sitting in the garden.
Carly and Tom argue about the cheque. Tom thinks she made some sort of agreement with her father to get him to send the money. Carly explains that her father killed her mum and that Carly blackmailed him she would tell his workmates it if he didn’t give her the money.
Lynn gets very fond of the stray dog and wants it to stay in with the Fletchers but Tom says no.
Carly agrees to let Tom and Pippa pay for the damages so she doesn’t have to owe her father any money.
In the middle of the night, the dog is outside barking so everyone is awoken and Tom gets angry. Next morning, Tom agrees to let the dog stay if he sleeps in Lynn’s room and doesn’t make a noise. Lynn is happy.
Frank finds out that Steven practises karate.
The dog still barks even though it was in Lynn’s room. Tom says the dog can’t stay in the Fletchers. Lynn gets angry and say that she will run away if the dog can’t stay.
