Episodes: 4882-4896
Occupation: Loan shark/Bookmaker
Clint was an acquaintance of Aden’s boss Gibbsey, who he recommended to Aden when he ran into financial difficulty. Clint went round to see Aden and gave him his card. He later approached him and noted that he knew Aden was a member of the local rugby team and, since he took bets on matches, he was willing to give him money in exchange for inside information. Aden was reluctant but, having already paid a deposit on an engagement ring for Belle, he eventually agreed.
Clint held onto the ring as collateral and told Aden he’d give it him back if Aden conceeded the first penalty in a match with Reefton Lakes. Aden kept up his side of the deal but, thanks to the game being called off when Lachie Caldwell was injured, the bets were declared void and Clint refused to hand over the ring. Aden attempted to pull out of their arrangement but Clint told him that if he did he’d report him to the police for match fixing, which with Aden on a good behaviour bond would guarantee him a jail term.
Clint told Aden to throw his next match.Aden attempted to comply but Geoff, who was aware of what Aden was doing, set out to stop him and managed to win the team the match. Aden protested to Clint that he couldn’t lose a game on his own so Clint told him to make sure Geoff was too injured to play in the next game, otherwise Aden would be taken out himself. He further unnerved Aden by approaching him and Belle at the Diner and chatting to them. Aden confronted Clint on the wharf and told him their deal was off, adding that he knew Clint couldn’t go to the police without incriminating himself.Soon after, however, Geoff and Nicole found Aden beaten up on the beach.
When Aden told Gibbsey how things had gone with Clint, Gibbsey angrily confronted the loan shark, telling him that he needed to keep Aden onside. Gibbsey then went back to Aden and gave him the ring.
