Andrew was a Summer Bay High student in the same year as Nick, Seb, Kirsty and Jade. He was first seen making fun of Nick on his return to school from his embarrassing stint on reality television show The Dorm.

The following year, Andrew stood for school captain, promising the students more sports equipment and more fun and that he wouldn’t suck up to the teachers. He seemed to make a better impression than Seb, until Seb announced that Jade was responsible for all his policies, resulting in her being elected. Despite this, Andrew was part of the school council and joined most of the other students in objecting to Barry Hyde’s authoritarian regime. He wasn’t entirely happy about Jade’s idea of a sit-in at the school, mostly because of the work required organising it, but ultimately took part, although like most of those involved he was more interested in having fun than serious protest. When Sally asked for a list of their demands, Andrew requested better gym equipment. Like most of those taking part, he was smuggled out of the school by Sally and Robbie before Barry could arrive with the police.

When a motley collection of students took part in a cadet paintball war game, Andrew ended up on the team led by Duncan and Tasha. He expressed his reservation of Duncan’s tactic of sending the “less important” members of the team on ahead while Duncan hung back where it was safe. He was last seen taking part in the organisation for the memorial concert for Noah.
