Joanne Kingsley

Joanne was Tamara’s mother. She and her husband Patrick were estranged from their daughter, whose one-time boyfriend Nelson had caused the death of their son Pete. When Tamara had amnesia and was unable to remember her time in Summer Bay, Casey contacted Joanne and Patrick, saying Tamara could do with people she was familiar with. The pair came to the Bay and were greeted by Casey and Kyle. Brax took his two brothers outside for a chat, leaving Joanne and Patrick making awkward small talk with Ricky.

Casey took Joanne and Patrick to the surf club while Kyle went to get Tamara. John gave them a tango surprise gelato on the house. Joanne expressed confusion over Casey’s role in things and he said it was complicated. Tamara then arrived with Kyle and, despite Joanne’s earlier fears that her last memory was of them wanting nothing to do with her, they quickly all hugged each other. Tamara looked over an old photo album with Joanne and Patrick, who suggested she come back to the farm with them.

Tamara initially agreed but at the last minute changed her mind, saying she didn’t want to leave without remembering everything and her life was in Summer Bay now. Joanne and Patrick were disappointed but said a fond farewell to her. The following year, after Tamara had an accident which could have led to her losing her sight, she decided to go back to live with her parents.
