Jodie was the marriage guidance counsellor who Rhys and Beth went to after Rhys had kissed Shelley. Jodie attempted to guide them through their family difficulties, prompting Rhys to promise to stand by Beth and her children. However, she felt Rhys was being less than truthful and privately told him that the counselling sessions were useless unless he was honest.

At the next session, Rhys admitted that although he wanted to be committed to their marriage, he loved Shelley more than Beth. Jodie tried to help the couple move forward but the admission was enough for Beth to end the counselling sessions and the marriage.
