After Irene had went on a radio show to win a free holiday for herself and Ken, she ended up blurting to the whole bay that Ken used to be an alcoholic. Ken went off at Irene saying that his business was sure to drop because no one would want to have their car fixed by him now.

A few days later, a taxi fleet operator, Ross Jones, himself an ex-alcoholic, came to Ken having heard Irene on the radio and struck up a partnership where Ken would do the work on his taxis.

Later that day, Ken and Irene went along to an AA meeting which Ross was in charge off.
