Roo’s boyfriend from the City showed up in the bay after alf invited him down for Christmas. Roo hadn’t told her family that he was Chinese and opposition from Alf and Celia saw the relationship come under strain. After a heart to heart with Roo, David decided there was too much against them and left the bay. He returned not long after to tell Roo that he was engaged to someone else.
