Archie was first seen in Melbourne, where he offered runaway Melody his portion of breakfast as the food van had run out. She brushed him off politely, and when Charlie approached him not long after and asked if he had seen her, he lied and said he did not know where she was, becoming agitated once he learned Charlie was a police officer.

He then broke up a fight between Melody and Kayla, preventing Mel from getting attacked by a broken bottle. He then took Melody back to the park where he sleeps, offering her his only blanket and laughing at her when she thought he wanted to sleep with her.

The next day, Melody and Archie went to the markets to get breakfast. He stole some corn on the cob and gave it to Mel. Archie bumped into a gang, but he discreetly stole the main guy’s wallet. When he saw a policeman, he thought he was after him, so he grabbed Mel and ran. While running through side-alleys, the gang caught up with them, leading Archie and Mel to run into a dead-end. Archie gave Mel some money and told her to run. She ran, but Archie was caught by the gang was was beaten up.

Archie was being treated by paramedics when Charlie and Miles arrived (The Melbourne cop that they were with called them so Archie could tell them about Melody). He said she was safe and she got away from the gang. Archie received some money from Miles as a thank-you gift.

While Mel, Miles and Charlie go home, we see Archie sitting in the place we first saw him at the refuge in St. Kilda.
