Michael was Diana Fraser’s representative when she and Irene attended a mediation session at the beach house to see who would get custody of Olivia after Chloe’s death. Diana instructed him to look into Irene’s past, with the result that during the first day’s mediation he was able to reveal that Irene had a criminal record, having once stolen from her employer while she was drinking. Michael arrived for the second day of mediation to find Irene and Olivia had disappeared but they soon turned up. The mediator, Judith, then awarded custody to Diana.
