Zoe was one of the recovering drug addicts at the rehab clinic where Belle stayed. During a group counselling session, she revealed that she went to stay with her boyfriend Greg on the condition she stay clean but when she relapsed he dumped her. Although Belle refused to take part in the discussion, she later approached Zoe in private and admitted something similar had happened to her. Zoe told her she’d learned not to depend on a boyfriend for self-esteem because without them you’re back where you started. She was then distracted when she noticed Liam sitting nearby and observed the clinic was starting to get interesting.
