Pat was the Principal of Yabbie Creek College. He met with Brad at the Diner to tell him there would be very little chance that his application for the teaching position would be successful. He said the board required all teachers to have impeccable records and that, because of the publicity surrounding the Naomi Preston situation and his demotion, attending his upcoming interview would be a waste of time. Brad argued his case and asked Pat to put in a good word for him. Pat said he would try and would get back to him later that night.

Pat turned up later at Brad’s motel and told him that he had talked to the board and if he gave them reassurances that there would be no further scandals they would give him a fair go in his interview. Just as Brad was thanking Pat, the police turned up to question him about holding a former student (Tam) against her will in his motel room. Despite Brad protesting his innocence, Pat walked away making it clear he wanted nothing more to do with Brad.
