Dr. O’Donnell was Belle’s specialist when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Although he was mentioned several times by Belle and Rachel during the course of her treatment, he was only seen once, when Amanda took Belle to the hospital and asked him about possible treatments. O’Donnell told her there were various procedures that could prolong her life and it was a question of quality or quantity. Sid, who was aware Belle wanted to die at home, tried to intercede but O’Donnell told him he wasn’t needed. However, Sid convinced Belle to call Rachel for a second opinion and she arranged to have Belle discharged.
