Mr. Pearce was the worker for DOCS that Pippa and Tom liased with after he found out that Tom had been retrenched. Pippa and Tom announced that they were they were thinking of moving out to the country as it was cheaper to live there.

Mr. Pearce went along with the idea and the Fletcher’s moved to Summer Bay. However, he soon had to come back to visit the Fletcher’s after he found out that Tom hadn’t found a job yet and that they had taken in Bobby, who was thought to be a danger to the kids. Neville got Ailsa to pretend to give Tom a job at the shop and Mr. Pearce went along with it.

However, when he went outside he found Bobby and Carly having a fight which didn’t do the Fletcher’s chances any good.

Bobby then stormed into Mr. Pearce’s offer in the city asking that he didn’t let what she did destroy what the Fletcher’s had and Mr. Pearce returned to Summer Bay asking if the Fletcher’s would foster Bobby when they found her.
