Myrll was a community centre manager that Belle was supposed to interview for the Coastal News, but she failed to make the appointment because her car broke down. When she turned up the following week, Myrll told her that the council had brought their meeting forward and already voted to close the centre and berated Belle for being too late and not checking her facts, refusing to talk to her.

When Melody revealed she knew Myrll from church, Belle asked her to talk to Myrll on her behalf. Melody spoke to Myrll about how passionate Belle was about saving the centre, and also about her mother Christine who was at the centre visiting Melody’s grandmother, and convinced Myrll to give Belle the interview.
