Simon was the cashier of a service station that was robbed by Sam Foster and Benji Perrin as part of an attempt by Jake Pirovic to frame Brax. Simon spoke with Charlie and Constable Stevenson at the scene after the incident and was rather flirtatious towards Charlie. All he could tell them was that a robber in a balaclava had demanded money at gunpoint and he had handed over $5000, after which the robber smashed the security camera. He hadn’t seen the getaway driver. After a moment’s thought, he recalled the robber had a tattoo on his hip.

A few days later, Simon called Charlie and Georgie back simply to tell them he’d remembered that the robber had picked up a bottle of water, which Georgie said would already have been finger-printed. He mentioned that he was working there part-time while studying law at uni. Georgie pointed out to Charlie that he was hitting on her and was proved right when, after going to the station to make a statement, Simon asked Charlie out. With some pushing from Georgie, Charlie agreed to meet him for a coffee at the Diner, where Marilyn made a point of serving them chocolate cheesecake with two spoons. However, despite getting on well with him, Charlie told Simon she’d just got out of a big break-up and wasn’t even ready for the rebound relationship he offered. Simon realised she was still in love with her ex (Brax) and advised her that life was short.
