Narelle turned up looking for Frank as she wanted to audition in his band. She changed into her stage clothes and gave a performance for Frank. Bobby thought she was more suited to a stripper and Frank told her that it was a no from the band but that she’d make a great dancer in the city. She remarked to Bobby that she was lucky to be going out with Frank and encouraged Bobby to make more of herself.
She was next seen at the school dance and asked Bobby if she had hooked up with Frank yet and then in the aftermath of Frank’s failed wedding to Roo she was recruited by Martin and Lance to sneak into the hospital and find out what had gone on. She visited Frank again a few episodes later and when he decided to move out of the caravan park house they decided to share the flat above the general store and moved in together. She angered her new landlady Celia though who hated her wardrobe of tiny clothes but Alf gave her a job at the bottle shop and she quickly settled into life in the bay.
After helping Steven out with his science project on kissing, she fell for him inflaming the town because she was three years older but she soon changed her affections when his Uncle Phillip Matheson came to town and she fell for him instead. She kissed him and was caught by Steven who was more concerned about being bullied for being dumped than he was about actually being dumped. Philip came up with a plan whereby Steven publicly dumped Narelle and she agreed to go along with it.
She was evicted from the flat by Celia and rejected by Philip in favour of Stacey. She developed a crush on Gary Samuels but changed her mind after Carly accused him of rape and decided that she was going to leave town in order to find herself a boyfriend. Philip gave her a list of eligible guys in the city and she departed the bay.
