Sully was an old friend of Brax and Heath who Brax went to for help when he was trying to earn money to repay Leah for paying off Geoffrey King. Sully had a history of cage fighting and agreed to fight against Brax. Brax took a beating as a result but earned $8,000. Sully agreed to train Brax alongside Elijah but learned his next opponent was Dick Norris, who had nearly killed his last opponent. When Brax refused to pull out, Sully refused to support him. He told Leah what was going on but this merely resulted in Leah distracting Brax at a crucial moment during the fight.

A few weeks later, a masked Sully went to Salt after hours, knocked Brax out with a blow to the head and stole the takings. His main aim had been to stop Brax taking part in a fight, since he stood to earn money if he succeeded, but Brax fought anyway and ended up in hospital. When Heath found out Sully was responsible, he and Rob ambushed him with a group of River Boys. Fleeing, Sully ran into Bianca and April and grabbed Bianca as a hostage, threatening to throw her off a cliff. Heath agreed that if Sully let Bianca go they wouldn’t go after him, and Sully made a hasty exit from town.
