Detective Truman was bought in to investigate Gary Samuel’s death. He quizzed Neville in Celia’s store about an earring that was found at the scene of the crime and Neville suggested he speak to Ailsa. When he asked Ailsa, Bobby recognised it as a match to the one Sally had given her the day before. Truman came to quiz Sally but got lucky when Carly admitted that the earring was hers. She explained that Gary committed suicide but Detective Truman didn’t believe her. He later found out that Carly was telling the truth when Stacey and Philip revealed Gary had played a similar trick on them.
