When Morag attempted to get to the bottom of the mysterious incident involving Josie Russell that had occurred in 1989, her investigations led her to Jim Wallace, a retired police officer living in a dilapidated shack. He admitted to her that when Josie ran a brothel, he was a regular customer. A client tried to force himself on her and she killed him in self-defence and Jim agreed to cover it up in return for certain services. He also recalled someone else, probably Marc Edwards, coming to him and asking the same questions. Morag pointed out that he had fallen on hard times while Josie remained in a position of wealth and power and managed to persuade him to talk to the authorities. However, when Peter and Lara went to Jim’s place his landlord told them that he had paid up his debts and cleared out. He was later found drowned. Morag believed that Josie had killed him but Josie suggested that Morag forcing him to relieve bad memories had caused him to take his own life. Which, if either, of them was right was never revealed.
