The 2011 season brought little to appease the large number of long-term fans who were disappointed with the show's decision to scrap the opening titles the previous year. The format remained the same with a 5 second bumper opening the show, though this had now received a revamp with a 3D render of the 'Home and Away' logo being composited into an aerial shot of Palm Beach - the first time an aerial shot had been used since the 1994 opening titles.
This bumper was used until Episode 5306 (airing on 30th May 2011), when it was replaced with a similar shot showing the logo embedded just off the Pittwater shoreline. This bumper has previously been used at the end of the show before the next episode promo.
