On Monday 25th September 1989 (Episode 401), the 5th set of titles for the year debuted. Dannii Minogue, whose character of Emma Jackson had arrived in the episode beforehand, was paired with existing cast member Mouche Phillips (Viv) in a new shot. Having shared a shot with Viv in the previous set of titles, Carly was reinstated with Bobby in a shot recycled from Set 3.
Despite having returned to the bay in the final weeks of 1988, it took until now for Matt Wilson to be reinstated on the opening titles, in a new shot with Adam. Finally with Marilyn having departed for the time being, the previous lone shot of Morag outside her mansion now returned... though Marilyn would strangely reappear in the titles only a few days later....
