The first titles for 1999, which debuted in the season opener, saw two new characters together with a new cast member. Hayley Smith, who had first appeared in September 1998 was added for the first time, alongside James Fraser, who had returned in a regular role in October.

Natalie Nash’s shot was also changed to mark the introduction of Antoinette Byron, who took over the role from Angelica La Bozetta in this episode. The ghostly figure present in the background of Natalie’s shot has been speculated by fans to represent the ‘old’ Natalie being replaced by the new.

Alf and Ailsa’s shot was cut down from the two angles seen previously to a single shot, the same happening with Chloe. The filler shots of the joggers and boat were also removed.
