She heads off to do her detention.Ailsa comes out and is surprised to find Steven hanging around outside.

As Barbara’s class arrive for their lesson, Barbara stops Roo and asks her if she’s doing anything after school. She says that she needs Roo’s help putting a slide show together and asks her to meet her in the classroom after her last lesson.Bobby, who has been listening, smirks and tells one of the other girls that if she has anything to do with it Roo won’t turn up.
Celia and Betty have gone back to Celia’s place.Betty insists that there’s no such thing as the Devil and that if a couple of old fogeys want to dance naked around a fire that’s their business, Floss’ prediction about Frank was just a coincidence.Celia however believes there is evil at work, corrupting innocents.Betty tells her to read her Bible in the hope it brings her to her senses and leaves.Lance and Martin sneak round the corner and, while Martin keeps watch, Lance goes into the house with the sack and then comes out again. Celia is shocked to find a rooster in her living room and a frog sitting on top of her Bible.Lance and Martin scamper away as Floss and Neville arrive to put Celia straight. They call out and go inside and are bemused to find Celia clutching her Bible and insisting she will not submit, surrounded by the animals.
Barbara dismisses her last class and Donald drops by to remind her about their dinner.Roo arrives and asks if she can help Barbara in the evening instead:Judith Staples has invited Roo round her house, the first time anyone’s done so since the wedding. In the corridor, Bobby is paying Judith(the girl she spoke to her earlier)for making the invite, although Judith isn’t looking forward to spending time with Roo.Steven approaches and isn’t entirely happy about what Bobby’s done.Barbara and Roo come past, with Barbara reminding Roo she promised to help her and saying that if Judith’s serious she can go round another time. Bobby moans about wasting five bucks.
Floss and Neville chide Lance and Martin for their trick and tell them to apologise to Celia.Lance asks what happened to the rooster and Neville says they shooed it outside.Lance is worried what will happen if Colleen finds it missing. At the store, Ailsa gets a call from Barbara saying everything’s in position. She then calls Alf and says that Roo’s had an accident.Alf picks her up in his range rover and they head off to Barbara’s, where Roo’s supposedly waiting for an ambulance.
Roo is helping Barbara while Lance and Martin apologise to Celia.Although their sincerity isn’t overwhelming, Celia accepts the apology.Lance and Martin are looking for the rooster outside when Alf and Ailsa arrive.Alf asks if they had anything to do with the accident but they don’t know anything about an accident and say Roo’s helping Barbara.Alf realises Ailsa lied to him and she asks him to stay and talk to Roo.Roo comes outside as Ailsa insists Alf’s response proves he still cares about her.Alf says he’s got nothing more to say to either of them and drives off.Ailsa, Roo, Barbara and Celia go back inside.Ailsa apologises for making things worse but Roo thanks her for trying.Celia suggests they should leave it for the moment.
Alf parks his car and walks down to the beach. He spends a lot of time there, walking slowly, kicking the sand and staring out to sea before finally sitting.Slowly, a smile appears on his face.
Celia complains about Barbara still planning to go out for dinner but Barbara says she won’t do any good by staying. They hear the doorbell and Barbara goes to answer it, thinking it’s Donald, but it’s Alf.Barbara drags Celia into the kitchen, leaving Alf and Roo alone.Alf holds out his arms, Roo smiles and hugs him.
