Extended Summary
Lance lies on a couch on the beach with girls standing around him fanning him with leaves whilst Martin, walks up dressed up as a waiter. Then Lance wakes up surrounded by Martin and Ailsa. He’d banged his heat when he’d fainted. He gets up and celebrates with Martin. They’re now rich!! Lance says he’s going to tell everyone, but Ailsa says not to – he doesn’t want all the freeloaders coming after him and Lance begins to get all worked up. Back serving customers in the shop, Ailsa talks with Celia about the resort and whilst Ailsa wants the town to stay quaint, whilst Celia thinks Summer Bay needs to move with the time. She mentions how she likes Gordon and Brett, and that she’s invited Brett to dinner and she wants Ailsa and Alf to join them. Ailsa says that Alf might be busy, but Celia says he isn’t, she’s already asked Alf.
Lance and Martin discuss in Lance’s van what they’re going to do with the lottery money.
Narelle tries telling Alf a joke. Frank comes in to talk about the Macklin’s job offer. Alf praises the Macklin’s, but Frank thinks that Brett is a jerk and that’s there’s no way he’s going to work with him. Frank says he’s already punched, but Alf say he’s done that as well. He needs the job.
Neville walks along. Lance and Martin are flinging all the stuff out the van and Neville wonders whether the boy are having trouble with mice. They continue searching the van and Martin says if they don’t find the ticket, they’ll back on the road gang. They then go to the flat and start turning that over. Narelle tells Ailsa that the flat is finally tidy. Narelle comes through and Narelle says she flung it out and burnt it. Turns out that Narelle was talking about a decomposed sock, and not the lottery ticket.
Celia, Roo, Brett, Alf and Ailsa are having dinner. They mention that Frank has turned the job down. Roo says she knows Frank better than anyone, maybe she should have a go at talking him around. She goes around trying to talk him around, but accidentally lets slip it was Brett that bought him the furniture. Unsuccessful, she returns to Celia’s where they discuss why Brett bought Frank the furniture. Back at the flat, Narelle tells Frank he should use Brett, in the same way that Brett used Frank and take the job.
Lance and Martin remember Russell and Dawn used the van and maybe they’ve taken the ticket, so they sneak in to the Fletcher’s to get their address. When Lance opens a drawer, he gets his finger caught in the mousetrap.
Frank is flinging out the furniture because it comes from Brett.
Back at the van, Lance and Martin talk about how they’re going to have to break into Russell and Dawn’s to find the ticket.
