Extended Summary
Pippa phones the police about her encounter with The Nutter. Tom hopes that The Nutter will be caught soon, but Pippa seems to think that The Nutter might be harmless. With The Nutter around, Tom decides that Nico should sleep with Frank and Steven. Frank doesn’t seem to mind, but Steven is quite peeved by it. Three o’clock in the morning and Steven is awoken by Nico’s snoring. He wakes him up by flinging a pillow at him. Tom and Pippa are up making breakfast in the morning. Tom says he hardly got any sleep, listening if The Nutter was around. He then goes to have some cereal. Pippa says it’s just Steven’s, but Tom has it anyway and says that he’s had with Steven’s recent behaviour. He then has Steven’s cereal, but doesn’t like it and scrapes it in the bin. Pippa explains Samuels philosophy in making his students think that they are better than everyone else just because they are elite athletes and Tom mentions Steven’s behaviour when setting Nico up in the boys room the night before.
The Power Pack finish their run and Samuels wants to know why Steven had so underperformed this morning. He explains he couldn’t sleep because of Nico’s snoring, but Samuels gets him to do 50 press-ups. He then goes to Tom to talk about Steven, but Tom tells him that he will decide how the Fletcher household is run and not Samuels. Steven rushes in complaining about the time Carly had spent in the shower. Nico asks whether he can sleep again in Steven and Frank’s room, but Steven tells him he can’t. Tom comes up to speak to Steven, so Frank and Nico go downstairs. Tom is unimpressed with Steven’s behaviour recently, but Steven says that Samuels said that the fact he isn’t get special privileges at home is holding him back. Tom says that if he doesn’t like the way the Fletcher’s live, then perhaps he should find a different household.
Pippa asks Tom how he got on with Steven and Tom says he held back no punches and hopes that that is the right way to deal with things. Steven leaves without a word. Nico is riding Steven’s bike in the caravan park, and Steven runs over to him, screaming for him to get off his bike. Frank grabs him and tells him not to call Nico a moron again. Nico and Frank are in the boys bedroom again and Pippa says that Frank better come up with his guest list and his best man. Nico asks Frank is he is his friend and Frank says he is. Then Nico asks Frank what a best man and Frank says it’s a friend. Nico says that since he is Frank’s friend, he must be the best man.
Ailsa turns The Stewart House over looking for something. Alf walks through with the keys and they try and to apologise over their argument over Bobby the previous night. Ailsa says that Bobby told her in confidence and that she’ll have to trust him.
Frank gets ready for his job interview and Nico is excited about being Frank’s best man. He then goes down the general store and spends money on the pod machine to win the ring. Pippa tells Frank that he needs to set Nico straight. As he’s going Frank says there was some good cars in the paper, but Pippa asks him to buy a blue one. He then tells Pippa that Steven missed his dentist appointment, but they can fit him later that evening. Pippa phones up the school and recognises the voice as The Nutter’s. She goes down the school and asks Samuels to go with her Mr. Fisher. She tells Fisher that she knows who The Nutter is.
