Extended Summary
Andrew and Adam are playing pool at the surf club when Martin arrives. Adam comments on how much time Martin’s spending with Greta. Martin says she’s a fantastic chick; she cooks great, loves a beer and shoots a mean game of pool. Andrew says he’d like to meet her so Martin invites him for a barbecue tomorrow.
At Summer Bay House, Tom tells Viv it’s impossible for her to stay here and she shouldn’t just run out on Fisher. Viv says Fisher conned her by taking her in and building up her hopes. He tries to take her home but Viv refuses. Tom tells her she can stay until she’s had time to calm down and he’s had time to think.
At the mobile home, Greta tells Marilyn that things aren’t turning out the way she hoped with Martin. She thought if she tried to be his mate first something else would develop. Marilyn thinks it still could but Greta says Martin even talks to her about girls he likes. Marilyn wants to give Martin a piece of her mind but Greta says it’s not his fault he’s not interested. Martin arrives home and tosses Greta a beer. He says she should try out for the cricket team.
Steven doesn’t want Viv to end up on the streets and wants to go and see Fisher. Tom tells Steven he will go and see Fisher himself, but he’s not going to put any pressure on him. Fisher is telling Bobby over dinner that he’s planning to resign when Tom arrives. Fisher thinks it’s up to Viv what she does but Bobby thinks Viv is being selfish. Fisher asks Bobby to go and pack some clothes for Viv. Tom returns home and tells Viv she can stay but he’s not happy about it.
Matt and Adam arrive at the Diner and Adam is complaining he doesn’t stand a chance in the ironman against Grant. Matt suggests he train with him and suss out what his weakness is. They go to see Grant at his caravan the next morning and he agrees.
Fisher is writing his resignation and wants to give Bobby power of attorney. Bobby thinks he should stand up for himself but Fisher says he deserves to be punished.
Andrew arrives at the caravan park for the barbecue and Martin introduces him to Greta. Greta keeps putting herself down while Andrew tries to encourage her.
Matt, Adam and Grant meet at the beach and start a 10k run followed by a swim. Meanwhile, Steven and Viv are playing pool at the surf club when Bobby arrives and gives Viv a lecture for walking out.
Greta is still putting herself down over lunch. Andrew suggests she read a book called Your Erroneous Zones. Martin says it’s mostly pictures but Andrew says it’s ‘erroneous’ not ‘erogenous’! Greta thinks she needs more than a book but Andrew tells her there are successful people who don’t have half the brains she has.
Tom is on the exercise bike as Steven tells him about Bobby having a go at Viv. Tom is on Bobby’s side; family should stick together. He asks Steven if he would walk out if it was Tom in trouble. Steven says Tom wouldn’t murder anyone but Tom tells him Fisher didn’t deliberately shoot anyone. Steven says they don’t know that for sure but Tom tells him to shut up and keep his opinions to himself.
Matt and Adam come out of the water exhausted while Grant is dry and putting sunscreen on. He asks if they want to do some weights but they don’t want to overdo it! Adam is despondent and asks Matt if he figured out what Grant’s weakness is! He’s blown the 500 bucks.
Viv comes to see Fisher and apologises for being selfish and listening to what everyone else had to say. Fisher says he didn’t tell her because he didn’t want to burden her. Viv asks if she can come home.
Andrew thanks Greta for a great afternoon and leaves. Greta says how fantastic Andrew is, while Martin is sick of hearing about him. Marilyn tells him that Andrew is sensitive, intelligent and charming… everything Martin’s not! She thinks Martin’s jealous of how Greta feels about Andrew.
Fisher answers a knock at the door. It’s Detective Hunt who tells him the gun has come back from the ballistic experts. It wasn’t the weapon used to kill Shane!
