Extended Summary

Ailsa is at the store telling Alf that Bridget has conned Emma and is going to ruin her life again but Alf doesn’t think Emma is that stupid and that it won’t go any further than Emma spending a bit of time with her.

At the school, Donald lectures the students on how to behave when they go to give blood. Steven tells Donald he’s brought a camera to take a photo of him giving blood to go in the newspaper. Donald claims he has a bad throat so perhaps shouldn’t give blood today. Viv tells him the nurse will tell him if he can donate or not.

Adam and Matt are having breakfast at the Diner because Melody doesn’t do any shopping or cooking. Bobby asks why they don’t tell her to get her act together but Matt thinks Adam’s hoping for a chance with her. They bet on whether or not the kitchen will be clean when they get home. They arrive home and find dirty dishes in the sink. Matt has a go at Melody about sharing the chores and finding a job. Melody has got an appointment with the CES today. She gets a reverse charge call from a “Brucie”, and Matt isn’t impressed.

Nurse Sam hands out forms to the kids at the surf club. Steven asks if Donald isn’t filling one out and Donald claims his cough is too bad. Sam tells him she can check with a simple test if it’s OK for him to donate and puts a thermometer under his tongue.

Tom returns to the house and asks Pippa to clean out a caravan as he’s feeling unwell… but not unwell enough to miss football tonight! Pippa is not impressed and is short with Ailsa when she arrives because she’s so busy. Ailsa knows how she feels and they talk about Emma. Bridget is close to winning Emma back and there’s nothing Ailsa can do about it. She admits she is jealous but she thinks she can give Emma a better upbringing and doesn’t want her falling back into her old ways in the city. Pippa suggests asking Bridget to stay. Ailsa is horrified but Pippa says at least she’ll be able to hear what Bridget is telling Emma.

Steven has his finger pricked to test his blood and it’s Donald’s turn next. Adam and Matt arrive to donate. Steven asks Adam to take the photo of Donald. Donald winces as his finger is pricked.

Melody is at the store but doesn’t have enough money for the washing up liquid so she leaves it behind. Ailsa arrives and tells Alf he’s right about Bridget and Emma spending time together so she wants to invite Bridget to stay with them! Alf is surprised by the turnaround.

Donald’s blood pressure is fine so it’s time for the needle. Steven ribs him and Adam stands by with the camera… but it’s Adam who faints! Bobby comes across Melody sunbathing on the beach and asks her if she’s having any trouble with Adam and Matt. Melody says there’s no problem; they’re great guys. Bobby is on her way to give blood. Back at the surf club, the nurse tells Grant she’s never seen anyone faint just watching before! Bobby arrives and is amused.

Pippa yells at Christopher who is crying (genuinely… but no children were harmed in the filming of this episode) and knocks the iron on the floor. The phone rings and Pippa calls for Tom to come and feed Christopher but he doesn’t appear. Pippa calls Christopher stupid for tipping his food out of the bowl and tells him to shut up.

Donald has finished giving blood and is absolutely fine. Steven, Matt and Bobby make fun of Adam for fainting. Steven says Melody will take care of Adam but Matt says she’s looking for a job. Bobby breaks the news that Melody was actually sunbathing and Matt says that’s it; she’s out. Adam returns home and tries to talk seriously to Melody but she asks him if they can do it later as she’s going for a lie down… with a bottle of wine and two glasses!

The kids are having lunch at the Diner after giving blood. Matt leaves to see if Adam has had any luck kicking Melody out. Emma hopes so. Ailsa apologises to Emma for what she said about her mother and offers for Bridget to come and stay with them. Emma thanks her and asks Ailsa to come with her to ask Bridget.

Pippa is on the phone to her mum, telling her that Tom doesn’t seem to realise how much there is to do around here. Bridget comes to the house to pay for her van. Ailsa and Emma arrive, looking for her, and offer her a bed. Back at the Stewart house, Bridget tells Ailsa how much she appreciates it. Ailsa and Emma leave to get back to work and school.

Matt arrives home and asks Melody if Adam has spoken to her yet but she asks what about. Hearing the shower, Matt storms into the bathroom saying he thought Adam was going to chuck Melody out. Adam comes in, looking panicked… so who’s in the shower? A man steps out of the shower and Adam introduces him to Matt. Bruce asks Matt if he’s got something to say about his girlfriend!
