At the store, Bobby is still convinced that Ernie Jacobs is the one sabotaging her and Alf’s campaigns since he’s now running for council, but Alf finds it hard to believe. Supposing she is right, what is Bobby going to do about it? Bobby says two can play his game.
Donald leaves for a meeting and Viv plans to take Tammy out for the day. She looks in Tammy’s bag for some clothes and finds a photo of their mother. Tammy found it in the garage. She doesn’t remember their mother as Tammy was only two when she left, and then she died. Tammy can’t understand why she didn’t take them with her when she left their father. She doesn’t have any spare clothes so they go to Summer Bay House to borrow some of Sally’s clothes. There is a swimming costume so they can go to the beach.
Grant is putting up an amateur night poster on a tree when Steven comes up and tells him he’ll be in trouble with Fisher! Grant says it will be worth it if it gets Paul on stage, and if his mum comes she’ll realise she has a genius on her hands. He doesn’t want Paul to end up in some job he hates.
Donald is at the Diner as his meeting has been cancelled. He sees a poster for the amateur night and says he told Grant to forget this idea. Bobby says the poster is staying but Donald says not if he has any say in it.
Carly is deep in thought over her wedding dress at the house. She tells Pippa is feels like all the excitement is wearing off. They plan to work on the dress together.

At the school, Grant tries to encourage the kids to enter the amateur night. Steven asks Grant if he’s going to do anything and Grant says he’s a pretty good singer. Paul is shaking his head the whole time. Donald pulls up in his car and sees the poster on the tree. He takes it down and drags Grant out of the classroom for a word. He tells Grant there is absolutely no chance of it going ahead.
Tammy asks Viv why she has to go back to Dad when Viv doesn’t. Viv says she told welfare how he was treating her, but Tammy isn’t prepared to. Tammy talks about being locked in the cupboard. Viv tells her it’s against the law; she’s got to tell. Tammy gets upset, thinking she will go to hell.
Grant’s class leaves and Grant asks Paul if he’s going to enter the amateur night. Paul says no thanks. Grant tells Steven he was sure Paul would take the bait. They realise it was too obvious. Donald comes into the room and Steven leaves. Donald has a go at Grant for going against his instructions. He tells him he has no right to influence Paul one way or the other. He agrees to the amateur night going ahead but if he catches Paul on the stage there will be hell to pay!
Ernie Jacobs comes into the Diner to hand out flyers. Bobby tries to throw him out and he calls her petty but Bobby accuses him of sabotaging the meetings. Ernie threatens to sue her! Alf calms Bobby down so she doesn’t get herself into trouble and Bobby offers Ernie a lunch on the house. Alf asks Bobby what she’s up to and Bobby tells him he’ll find out!
Viv and Tammy and walking away from the beach. Tammy worries what will happen to her if she does talk to welfare. Viv tells her she’ll get a new mother and father; only nice people are allowed to be foster parents. Tammy asks what their real mother was like. Viv says they had the best times with her when Dad wasn’t around and talks about their last Christmas with her.
Steven talks to Paul about the amateur night and suggests they do a song about teachers together. Paul tells Steven he’s not an idiot; he knows he and Mitch are just trying to get him to play and it’s not going to work.
Carly arrives for work and is surprised to find Ernie there but Bobby tells her she’s just made him an “extra special” lunch. She serves it to Ernie who chokes on the spices and screams for water.
Viv has had a shower and finds Tammy crying. Tammy says she knows she has to tell the truth but she’s scared. If they send her away she’ll never see Viv again. She begs Viv not to leave her again. Viv says from now on it will be just the two of them; no-one else.
