Carly presents Ben with a token of her love. Bobby doesn’t know as much about Chris as she thought.
Extended Summary
Carly has to wake Bobby up at the Diner as she’s tired after her late night with Chris. Carly admires a bracelet that arrived from him this morning. Ben arrives and jokes about guys never getting presents. He and Carly leave together and Bobby sits down to rest again.
At home, Carly asks Pippa if she bought Tom presents. Sophie appears and asks what they think of her outfit for the amateur night but Pippa thinks it’s too revealing. Steven arrives home and teases Sally that his act will give her nightmares. He goes to Ben’s caravan where Ben is dressed as a baby (in giant bib and nappy) to borrow an outfit for his act.
Donald arrives as Bobby is closing up the Diner. He comments that she looks tired and he’s not sure Chris is a good influence on her. He suggests a special dinner tonight but Chris appears and asks Bobby to his mate’s new nightclub.
Carly tells Pippa she wants to get Ben a nice present. Pippa shows her a watch she gave Tom on their first anniversary. Carly arrives late for work the next morning and tells Bobby – who looks terrible – she’s decided to buy Ben a present but needs her pay this morning and in cash! Bobby says they’ll see. Ben arrives. He’s seen Carly’s credit card statement and isn’t happy. He suggests he look after the credit card and Carly hands it over. Bobby gives Carly her pay and Ben takes that too; now he can pay off the credit card! After he’s gone, Carly asks Bobby for an advance on next week’s pay but Bobby refuses.
Murray is at Summer Bay House practising “There’s a Hole in My Bucket” with Sally who is getting annoyed with him for doing it wrong. Carly comes home and asks Pippa if she can borrow some money but Pippa doesn’t have any spare. Pippa has made Murray and Sally’s costumes and tells Sophie they’ll have plenty of time to fix her dress but Sophie doesn’t look keen. Carly goes and searches Ben’s caravan but he walks in on her and she claims she’s looking for washing.
At the store, Steven is buying something for the amateur night. He’s already put it in his bag before paying Alf so that nobody sees it (including us). Donald and Alf discuss Bobby and Chris. Donald doesn’t know what Bobby sees in him. Alf says if he’s not a good bloke he’s sure Bobby will sort him out quick smart.
Sophie and Sally have a rather ridiculous argument over who gets to use the bedroom to practise. Pippa comes up and tells Sophie to practise in Carly’s room.
Carly needs to get back to work and suggests Ben go for a swim. Ben leaves and Carly starts searching his bag. She finds the credit card.
Back at the Diner, Chris tells Bobby he’s exhausted but she persuades him to come to the amateur night with her. Alf arrives and meets Chris. He thinks he looks familiar. Chris leaves and Alf tells Bobby that Donald is worried about her.
Carly shows Pippa the ring she’s bought for Ben. Pippa tries to send Murray home as his mum has called twice but he bends over and rips his outfit! Carly goes to the caravan and gives Ben the ring. Ben asks how she could afford it but Carly says it didn’t cost much and she promises not to use the credit card again.
Donald comes to the Diner and reminds Bobby they’re supposed to be having dinner before the amateur night but Bobby is going out with Chris again. She tells Donald she doesn’t like him talking to Alf about Chris and assures him he has nothing to worry about. However, Chris is in a phone box telling his wife not to wait up for him and to give the kids a kiss goodnight for him! He gets into the car with Bobby and claims he forgot an appointment. He tells her she drives him crazy and they kiss.
