Ben and Carly find themselves in trouble with the law. Donald Fisher asks Pippa out on a date.
Extended Summary
Pippa is at the Diner with all of her groceries. She has to go shopping every few days since she doesn’t have a car. Donald comes in and offers her a lift home.
Stranded and naked after the skinny dipping and theft of the car, Ben thinks he and Carly will have to walk back to the car park to use the phone. Carly isn’t keen on walking several miles without clothes on; what if somebody sees them?
As Pippa unpacks the groceries at home, Donald offers his services if she needs help with anything around the house. Pippa realises she has unwittingly bought something for Tom. She asks Donald if you ever get used to being alone. Donald’s lack of response gives Pippa the answer.
Ben and Carly have made it to the phone box. Ben makes a reverse charge call to the house and tells Sophie to ask Grant to come and pick them up.
Bobby is at home, folding the campaign flyers she’s had printed, but Donald is distant, thinking about Pippa. Bobby suggests he take her out for dinner but Donald thinks it would be inappropriate.
Ben and Carly hide some bushes, waiting for the phone to ring. A car pulls up and an older couple (the Streetons) get out for a picnic! The phone rings and Carly tells Ben he has to answer it. Using some branches for modesty, Ben sneaks into the phone box to answer it. Sophie tells Ben that Grant isn’t in his van so Ben tells her to go and find him. Mrs Streeton turns around and gasps to see Ben in all his glory. His branch is caught in the door of the phone box!
Steven is at the Jensen house as Paul complains about Emma getting Adam to call the fight off. Steven says he could have accepted Adam’s apology to get out of it but Paul doesn’t want to get out of it. Steven says he’ll pick him up early in the morning and they’ll go through everything.
Sophie hangs up the phone after talking to Bobby; nobody knows where Grant is. Pippa finds a letter that came yesterday. Her friend Leah is inviting her to a 15-year nursing graduation reunion… and it’s tomorrow! Steven thinks she should go but Pippa makes every excuse possible.
As they wait behind the bushes, Ben laments his car being stolen, but Carly says she didn’t like it anyway. Ben thinks they will look back on this and laugh one day but Carly thinks it will be a long time.
Steven tries to talk Pippa into going to the reunion and she gets annoyed with him. She can’t face being asked if she’s married. Sophie returns to the house and says Grant has disappeared off the face of the earth. She calls the phone box again. Ben tells her to get anyone with a car to come and pick them up. However, a police car appears with flashing lights.
It’s dark when the police drop Ben and Carly home. Ben asks what about his car and is told he’ll have to go down the station and report it. The police leave and Sophie, Pippa and Steven laugh about the situation. Carly tells them they’d better not breathe a word about this.
Bobby is opening up the Diner the next morning when Steven arrives. It’s the big fight today. Steven tells Bobby about Pippa’s reunion and asks her to get Donald to offer to take her. Bobby says she’ll try but she’s not making any promises. Steven starts to tell her what happened to Ben and Carly but thinks better of it.
Ben returns from reporting his stolen car at the police station. Carly worries about going to work in case people have found out what happened. Adam appears and asks Ben to second him in the fight. Carly feels sorry for Paul, but Ben agrees. Steven gives Paul tips at the Jensen house and they leave for the fight.
Bobby teases Carly at the Diner about her and Ben’s “hanky panky”, although Steven didn’t tell her any details. Pippa is there and says Steven has got a big mouth for telling Bobby about the reunion. Donald arrives and Bobby asks him why he doesn’t take Pippa. Donald says he’d be happy to and Pippa gives in. Bobby goes and talks to Emma about the fight. Emma wants to support Paul but doesn’t think he can beat Adam. Steven is strapping Paul’s hands up when Adam arrives at the surf club for the fight.
