Episode 657

Extended Summary

Ben and Carly eats breakfast. They will go to apply for the dole after that. Ben isn’t looking forward to it. They talk to Pippa about it.

Maz have made breakfast for Matt and Adam (bacon and eggs).

Maz will miss Matt a lot since he will move out from the beach house. Adam is taking the whole thing ok. They have to find somebody else to share the flat with so they can be able to pay the rent.

Ben and Carly comes to CES to apply for the dole. Ben feels a bit embarrassed. They will have to fill in some forms.

Michael talks to Pippa in the garden outside her house. He wants to rent a caravan for him and his son (Haydn) that will come to Summer Bay for a while to visit him.

Pippa shows Michael a caravan. Michael talks about the many arguments he had with his old wife Cynthia (Haydn’s mother).

Pippa talks about Tom a bit too and explain that he is dead. Michael is sorry to hear that. Michael has tea with Pippa. They talk a lot and get on well.

Matt has found a flat to live in. He will share a flat with a girl. He tells Maz and Adam about it. Matt tells them he has to get back his bond money for the beach house. Adam and Maz have no money to pay Matt. They are worried. (Tense music)

Maz ask Alf if she can get money in advance out of her paycheque to pay for Matt’s bond. Alf say no.

Maz ask Grant if he can lend her 240 dollars. He thought it was a joke at first but then realises that she is sincere. He says he can’t afford to do that.

Grant talks to Alf. Grant feels that Blake didn’t tell the truth about his mum’s birthday earlier. Alf think there is nothing else to it but Grant are convinced it is something that Blake aren’t telling about his mum’s death.

Matt tells Bobby about the flat that he will move into and share with a girl. Adam comes by and Matt wants the bond money. Adam says that Maz will give it to him later.

Adam asks Bobby if he can borrow money to pay for Matt’s bond. She says she can’t do that. Adam tries to talk her into it. Bobby says definitely no.

Carly and Ben have filled in the forms and speaks to some persons at CES. They can’t get any work (even though Ben said he would take any job as long as he could be working) but they should be able to claim unemployment benefits and get money from that.

Michael talks to Alf and they get on well. Michael shops in Alf’s store and talks about his son Haydn and Pippa etc.

Bobby is out at Pippa’s house and asks Pippa to do more cooking for the Diner. She needs more meatloaves.

Bobby makes a joke about Pippa being interested in Michael. Pippa get offended and wants her to stop saying things like that. Bobby says it was just a joke. Pippa understands Bobby and say she is sorry.

Ben and Carly find out they will only be getting 235 dollars and 40 cents a week. They think it will be hard to live on that and there is a six weeks waiting period before they get any of it! (Music plays)

They both come home and talks about it. They feel it will be very hard to live on that small amount of money.

Michael comes by. Carly says hello. Ben doesn’t say anything to Michael. Ben are upset about thee fact that Michael moved into caravan at the caravan park. And Michael will fix a pipe in the men’s shower block to help Pippa out. Ben doesn’t like that either. Ben feels troubled but say he understand sort of that Pippa have to let Michael live in caravan park even though Ben can’t get along with Michael. Ben say he will stay right out of Michael’s way since he don’t want anything to do with him.

Pippa talks to Ben and Carly about how it went at the CES. Carly says she will take any work she can from now on since she doesn’t want to live on peanuts money. Ben feels very bad about not being able to support his wife.

Maz and Adam tell Matt that they can’t pay him the bond money since they don’t have the money. Matt is annoyed with them. Matt got a knock-back anyway from the girl he was supposed to share a flat with. The girl found another one to share it with. Matt is a bit down about it.

Grant offers Matt to move into his flat. Matt is interested and he doesn’t have to pay any bond money right away either. Matt decides that he will move into Grant’s place.

Ben talks to Michael at his caravan. Ben swallows his pride and asks Michael for the job at the boatshed. Ben promises he will keep his temper under control. Michael has his doubts but after a while he gives Ben the job. He tells Pippa and Carly and they all are very happy.

Michael comes in with a bottle of champagne and celebrates with Pippa, Ben and Carly. Ben and Michael seem to get on well now. Ben admits part of his troubles earlier was pure envy of Michael getting the boatshed instead of him and Carly. Michael toasts Pippa too and she seem to react a bit weird (sort of embarrassed).
