Pippa and Michael spend an enjoyable evening together. Karen has a nightmare time with Haydn.
Extended Summary
Blake and Karen are cooking dinner. Blake is still in a bad mood since he is blaming himself for their mum’s (Margo) death. Ailsa are home and are in a hurry since she and Alf will go out on a fundraiser thing.
Karen won’t have to look after Duncan tonight and are grateful for that since Haydn and Sophie are coming over for dinner.
Pippa cleans the cupboards in the kitchen. Sophie talks to her about Karen being nervous today since Haydn will be coming over to dinner at Alf’s place and she wants to make a good impression.
Haydn is getting ready for dinner later on. Michael talks to him. Michael sees that he is going to a lot of trouble for the dinner that Karen is organising. Michael tries to give him some ideas on how to behave with a girl etc.
Karen and Sophie are in Alf’s store and are trying to choose some videos to rent to watch today with Blake and Haydn. Alf warns them that there will be no “hanky-panky” today! They say it is ok.
Sophie and Karen rent a video with a story about teenage love. Bobby jokes about it and say that Alf might have something to worry about anyway.
Sophie and Karen are on their way home to Alf’s house. Karen is nervous about the dinner today with Haydn. Sophie tells her to relax.
Haydn comes to Alf’s house. Blake lets him in. Karen and Sophie aren’t home yet. Blake and Haydn are a bit tense to each other but agree to try to get on for Karen’s sake. It seems as if Haydn still will kiss Sophie for real in the school play to get back at Blake. Blake gets angry and they nearly start a fight in Alf’s living room. Haydn leaves. Karen and Sophie meet Haydn on his way from Alf’s house. He explains that he couldn’t get on with Blake even if they tried. They talk Haydn around and he will come with them back to Alf’s house again.
Michael talks to Pippa in the Caravan Park. They talk about what they will do today (not together though!) etc. They seem to get on well.
Haydn, Karen, Blake and Sophie eat dinner at Alf’s house. Karen has gone to a lot of trouble for this dinner.
Blake and Haydn try their best to get on but it is obvious they really can’t stand each other.
At evening, Michael and Pippa seem to think about each other.
Blake and Haydn argue about a football issue they talked about during dinner. Sophie is angry with Blake for not getting on well with Haydn.
Michael decides to go over to Pippa’s house at the same time as Pippa decide to go over to his caravan.
They were on their way over to each other with some food since they didn’t want to eat alone. They both go into Pippa’s house.
Haydn, Blake, Karen and Sophie have watched a video and thought it was great. But Blake and Haydn had to complain about something so they explain that they didn’t really like it because of a few mistakes in the movie.
Michael and Pippa eat dinner together and they talk a lot and like each other’s company.
They talk about the “kids” dinner night alone. And Michael talks about how things were for him when he was younger and in love etc. Michael and Pippa seem to like each other a bit, at least as friends. (Music plays)
Haydn and the rest watch another movie. Karen try to hold Haydn’s hand but just then he raises his hand due to a thing that happened in the movie. Karen say to Haydn that he can put his arm around her if he wants to. He does that but also manages to get the popcorn bowl all over Karen!
Michael comes to collect Haydn at Alf’s house. Haydn thinks it is a bit too soon. Haydn is sorry for the popcorn incident. He apologises to Karen. Karen is a bit upset and feels that the whole evening was a disaster, sort of.
Sophie comes home and tells Pippa what happened at Alf’s house. Sophie found out that Pippa and Michael ate a meal together. Sophie thinks it is great. Pippa say it was just a simple meal as friends and nothing else.
Haydn and Michael talks. Haydn tells him about the popcorn disaster. Haydn found out that Pippa and Michael had dinner together. Michael says that they are just friends.
Ailsa and Alf come home. Karen cries and speaks to Ailsa. Karen tells her about the disaster with the popcorn bowl and that Haydn doesn’t seem to care about her etc.
