Sally overhears a conversation that could put Adam behind bars.
Extended Summary
It starts at the Beach house where Shane almost knock the door off the hinges to have a go at Adam for the Surf Club damages but Adam insists he didn’t do it because he was in Yabbie Creek with his mates. Shane doesn’t believe him and calls him a scum bag and leaves him, still suffering from a hangover. At the Surf Club Michael’s hassling Nick to catch whoever’s responsible, as Adam arrives to see the mess. He goes inside and when Angel comments on the damage, she touches a raw nerve when she suggests it’s got to be someone local and he snaps at her. Michael and Nick come in and while Michael goes to ring Pippa, Nick asks Angel and Adam for their help in catching the culprit.
Bill’s chatting to Pippa when Fin comes in and reminds him he’s supposed to be helping Luke. Before he goes he checks that they are still going to the movies and after he leaves, Pippa talks to her about the tricky situation she’s got herself in with Luke and Bill. As far as she’s concerned, Luke’s the one who’s in the wrong because he lied to Bill. Pippa tries to reason with her why he did it and thinks she should go and talk to Luke again. As Pippa is telling Sally about the vandalism, Luke comes in for a chat but isn’t keen to talk to Fin. He asks her to talk to Fin but she points out it’s his problem and that really he should speak to Bill, so he goes back to the van, where Bill is trying to decide what to wear. No matter what he says, Bill can’t understand what he’s saying, so he gives up. Just as Fin’s about to leave, Pippa tells her about Luke’s visit and suggests she asks Luke to go with them but Fin reminds her this outing is to show Luke, that Bill can be trusted. Angel chats to Sally on ways to earn extra money and puts it to Pippa, who agrees to let her give it a go. Fin goes over to get Bill, who has promised Luke he will be on his best behaviour.
Back at the Surf Club Shane arrives, shuns Adam and when Nick talks to him about the vandalism, he gets annoyed with the questioning. After Nick leaves, Adam goes over to him and tries to convince him he didn’t do it, just as Michael comes in to tell him he’s got another week’s work. Pippa hobbles over to inspect the damage and is horrified to hear it’s going to cost 800 dollars, which they haven’t got but Michael says they’ll just have to cut out the luxuries. Shane, having heard this conversation has another go at Adam and warns him he might dob him in. Back home Shane gets annoyed when Fisher starts on about the vandalism but before the conversation gets too heated, Sally arrives, looking for odd jobs. At first, Fisher can’t think of any but when he sees the disappointment on her face, he gets her to clean the windows. As Fisher’s about to leave, Adam comes looking for Shane and Adam insists he’s not guilty and warns him to keep quiet. Unaware that Sally has heard most of the conversation, she doesn’t know what to do, so when Angel comes in, she tells her about it. Angel tells her to talk to Michael and Pippa but she’s worried that Adam may not be the culprit and doesn’t want to cause any unnecessary trouble.
Luke is restless and goes over to talk to Pippa about what he should do. She tells him he should let Bill do more things on his own because she thinks he’s too gentle to do anything wrong. Luke waits for Fin and Bill to return and takes him back to the van to get something to eat. Sally comes in and tells Pippa about the argument between Shane and Adam. Michael gets Nick to come over and takes down Sally’s statement. It suddenly dawns on Michael that it could be true because Adam needed work and they go down to the Surf Club to confront him.
It ends when Nick tells him he wants to question him about the vandalism…
