Diana is up to something but nobody knows what. Gypsy’s welfare is becoming everyone’s concern, but she refuses to go back to therapy. Joel is devastated when he is suspended from the police force.
Extended Summary
Gypsy pleads with James not to tell her parents as they have a lot on their plate. He asks her for her reasons for drinking; her excuses is that she is stressed and she wants to relax. He points out that there are other ways of relaxation, and says it’s a pity she’s not seeing her counsellor, as she would have helped her with relaxing. He finds himself in an awkward position. He makes her promise not to touch alcohol again and advises her to back to counselling.
James returns home, surprised to see his mother there. He is suspicious of her presence. Chloe thinks she has changed when she says that Diana apologised to her for trying to break Chloe and Lachie. She also mentions that Diana has set up a trust fund for Olivia. Diana persuades Chloe to leave Olivia with her for babysitting instead of taking her to the crèche. Chloe eventually agrees to leave Olivia with her. Chloe drives to pick up Sally and talks to Alf about baby Byron. Sally and Chloe walk to the car, which gets stolen immediately.
Diana is up to her usual tricks. She meets a man in the Diner to discuss some business. After Bob leaves, Alf asks her whether his wife knows of the affair. She is shocked by his comments, and bluntly states that she does not want do discuss business with him, before walking out of the Diner.
Tom gives one of the holidaymakers a hand; she is staying in the van he’s supposed to take. He enquires as to when they are leaving. After their reply that they wish to stay for the weekend, he says that there’s a problem – there is a regular customer waiting for a van. Mrs Grieg wishes to discuss the matter with her husband first. At school, Justine and Tom spend time in the trees kissing; she asks him to wait until he gets the caravan. Natalie finds Tom, and gives him a task to do. Travis notices the guests packing their stuff; he tells Tom he thought they they would be staying longer. Tom lies that the father has passed away and they are going to a funeral, and advises him not to say anything to them!
The thief speeds away in Chloe’s car; Joel catches the culprit. Joel arrests him and the thief’s arm gets hurt; he is taken to hospital. At the station, the thief lodges a complaint against Joel as he claims that Joel twisted and broke his arm. Natalie drops by the station with a basket of fruit. Joel fills in the story of himself. She asks him has he really hurt the thief. He is taken aback by his wife’s lack of faith in him, and walks away with an excuse that he has paperwork to do. Inspector Carter is not very happy with Joel; he points out that Joel should have taken his leave when he was offered. He suggests that he take it now; suspension is on the cards…
