James tells Chloe that it’s over between them. Tom lies to his parents about his motorbike. Joel befriends John, in spite of being a cop.
Extended Summary
James arrives at Jesse’s with an overnight bag and asks if he can stay. Jesse tries to persuade him to talk to Chloe and give her a chance to explain. James however has made his mind up Chloe has lied what else is there to explain? Chloe when she sees James tries to persuade him to come home. James asks her if she is in love with him, yes she does love him but is not in love with him. This is not enough for James as he thinks that when ever Chloe and him are alone she may be thinking of Lachie, but Chloe says this is not so. James tells Chloe that the marriage is over.
Sally catches Vinnie in the kitchen with a lot of chocolate bars and snacks. Vinnie says he cannot manage his diet any more it’s making him fed up. Sally and him reach an agreement that they must stick to the diet but they can have the odd treat.
Justine is finding difficult to concentrate on her HSC work. She asks Tom to take out for a run on the motorbike. They almost run down Alf on the road. Alf is furious and goes to see Joel to complain but Joel says Tom no longer has the motorbike. However Alf has gone, Joel, Nat Rebecca and Travis wonder if it was Justine and Tom on that bike after all. They decide to trust the kids. On the beach Tom and Justine play and Justine feels more relaxed. When Tom and Justine arrive home for Dinner Joel mentions that Alf had been around accusing them of nearly knocking him over with the motorbike but Joel says he told Alf there was no longer a motorbike. The next day Tom tells Justine that he feels guilty about his parents thinking he got rid of the motorbike. He thinks of getting rid of it but Justine says she needs it as it takes her mind off everything that is happening in her life for awhile.
Joel stops John in his car as it has problems with its exhaust. John responds in an aggressive manner, which surprises Joel, as it was just a warning he was giving him nothing more. Joel sees Irene in the Diner later and asks what John’s problem is. Irene says John has a problem with the Police because he was one of the stolen generations who was taken away from his mum by the police and has never seen her since the age of 5 when he was put into care.
Joel turns up later at John’s caravan with some beer and John lets him in to the caravan where they watch the football together. They are getting on well when Nat call Joel in for his dinner and John is asked to join them but he refuses saying he has work to mark. The next day Nat and John talk about John’s upbringing he explains he was brought up by a white family in a white town and he has no idea about his Aboriginal identity. He feels he fits in neither culture. Nat tells Joel about this and how John has tried to find his mother and gave up looking. Joel tells Nat he may be able to help.
