She tells him that they are going to the pub. Jesse says no as he want to do right with her parents. Gypsy is angry and says he should be trying to keep her happy not her parents.
Natalie and Gypsy talk about how she feels and Natalie suggests cooking a special romantic meal for Jesse. Gypsy is enthusiastic but what about everyone else in the house. Natalie agrees to get everyone away from the house for the evening. Gypsy is ecstatic.
Gypsy is over the moon and prepares a menu by looking over cookbooks she decides on a complicated menu and begins preparing the food. The kitchen is looking as if a bomb has hit it and it seems as if the end result will be a disaster but she won’t accept help from Natalie. However she soon realises she needs her mum’s help and Natalie manages to save the day for her. Jesse and Gypsy enjoy their meal but when Gypsy goes to serve Jesse his sweet she spills it over his clothes. She puts his clothes in the wash and goes to find a pair of Tom’s trousers for him to wear at this point Joel and Natalie walk in.
Ailsa is surprised that Duncan is alone and wonders where Hope is! Duncan say she has gone home and when Ailsa pushes him for more information she learns that he hates Hope and won’t be attending the church or the youth group anymore. Alf is put out at Duncan’s attitude but is delighted that he will be able to attend the fishing competition and not church. Alf talks to Duncan and tells him that he was right he was only going to go to church to please him but so was he. He was involved with the church and the youth group because of Hope. Duncan agrees with Alf and Alf tells him he thinks he should attend church and find out about God for himself not because of Hope. He also persuades Duncan to find Hope and sort out the problems they have had. Duncan goes to see Hope at the surf club where he says he is sorry, she accepts but says they shouldn’t see each other except at the youth group. Duncan tells her he doesn’t think he will go anymore that it’s really not for him.
Alf and Ailsa are sorry he does not go any more as it resulted in such a dramatic change in behaviour in Duncan for the better. Later on Alf and Ailsa meet the Reverend who tells them he is looking forward to seeing them attend church. Alf does not like to say they won’t be going. Alf is about to start giving Duncan a lecture about not going to church when Duncan says he will go and give it a try.
