Extended Summary
Nick finally accepts Ken and Irene’s plans to marry. Irene and Ken talk about Eve and Nick. Will suggests that they visit their mother and Ken agrees.
Judith tells Fisher about Edward and Peta’s marriage and asks what should she do. He mentions that when Rebecca allowed Vinnie stay over with Justine, there was uproar from the community and it would be worse as Judith is a principal.
Peta calls Judith a hypocrite because Judith told her that the last moments spent with her partner were precious and that she would not allow Peta and Edward share the same moment.
At home, Edward attempts to open a tin but ends up hurting himself just as his mother enters. She rushes to his aid but he shouts, telling her he does not want her help.
Mitch asks Fisher to sign the petition for a drop in centre. Fisher asks him about the arrangements such as finance and plans. Mitch has no idea so Fisher tells him he would not sign it unless there were plans. Later on, Mitch tells Will, Hayley and Peta that he has called DOCS and that they will send him stuff and that they could ask about grants.
Near the beach, Peta and Gypsy are walking when Edward comes over. Mitch comes over later and tells them that he is going over to check out the old house. Gypsy decides not to go but Mitch persuades her to come. In one room of the house, Mitch tells Gypsy of his plan of arranging the loungeroom in the house. Hayley enters the room and misreads the situation; she gives out to Gypsy. Peta confronts Hayley telling her to get her facts right. Joel throws the kids out of their drop-in-centre for trespassing. He tells them that the council has arranged for demolition of the house.
On hearing this, Mitch confronts Alf at the Diner; he believes that Alf had something to do with the demolition. Alf tells him the petition would be hard and that he is not friends with the council since Duncan’s accident.
During a class, Fisher asks everyone to hand up their essays. He comes over to Gypsy asking her for her essay. She says she does not remember him setting one. He asks her about her friends, and she tells him she does not have many right now. At this moment, Hayley is sniggering with other classmates. Gypsy tells Hayley to say it to her face that she is a tart like her mother. Hayley is left embarrassed.
Gypsy is going through some photos of herself and Hayley when Joel arrives. She is throwing them out and asks him does he want lunch. He asks her what is the matter but she refuses to say. He reminds her there is only two of htem now and that they have to work together. She tells him of her problems and believes that she is the problem. Joel points out that they are made of tough stuff and that it would take more than community uproar to bring the Nashes down.
